Locals are distrustful of the influence of Shiite militias like the Badr Brigades with close ties to Iran. *

LORD of all, Protector of the innocent, Father to the fatherless. Today, LORD, I ask for protection for the widows of Adhamiya. LORD, I understand that they are having a hard time because of their social customs and religious beliefs. Father, find a way for these widows to learn about Jesus and the hope and joy that He brings. Give them a support system with Your Body there in Adhamiya. Visit them in their hour of need and bring them peace and hope. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Open the eyes of hearts that are yearning for peace and righteousness and show them the way to Your salvation. Bring to mind things they have seen or heard of Jesus. And let Your Holy Spirit quicken those things in their spirits so that they can be born again. Thank You, Jesus, for Your blood that covers their sins. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for breathing on them. we ask that you would bring your peace to Adhamiya as you have brought it to other parts of Baghdad and Iraq. We pray also for areas like Dawrah and Mosul where Christians are persecuted. Please be a haven for your faithful and give them peace.

Open their eyes to see that they are being held captive and give them courage to step out and trust and be open with each other.
