18-Unity Among the Troops and Police

“There was a period of time when coalition forces had to urge Iraqi forces to fight. That is not the case anymore. They are not only capable of fighting, but they want to fight for a sovereign Iraq.”
-Brig. Gen. Dana Pittard, commander, Iraqi Assistance Group, to reporters in Baghdad March 11.

Scripture: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!” -Psalm 133:1

Prayer: Lord, You count the stars and You know them all by name. You measure the waves of the sea and place boundaries on its shores. You know the hairs on my head and the thoughts and intentions of my heart. Nothing escapes Your notice, there is no one else like You.

soldier_police.jpgLord, I thank you for the brave men and women of the Iraqi police force and army. I ask for Your blessing of unity to be on them as they work along side the allied troops.

I focus on the military operations today in Baghdad, and I ask for your grace and favor to be with teams as they go out: help them to move together in unity, and to function as one cohesive unit. Knit them together, Lord, into a solid force for peace, and give them victory after victory today as they patrol the city. In Jesus name, amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, thank You so much for the privilege of prayer and for Your gracious kindness in answering prayer. Thank You so much for our Lord Jesus Who has made it possible for us to come to You in prayer and to know that You hear us and answer all prayers that are given in His Name, according to His authority. Father, we have been praying for peace in Iraq and for stability so that the citizens of that land might be able to live in peace and so that wickedness is made powerless to bring harm. I join in praying for the Iraqi soldiers and police. Be with them as they carry out their duties today and every day, and encourage them with success. May those who seek to keep things unstable and who attack these forces have no success. I pray for the safety of all who seek peace in Baghdad and in all of Iraq today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Father, help the Iraqi people realize how wonderful their lives could be, and the lives of their families, if they will unify and set aside their religious differences, and work together for a unified country. If they are not mature enough to unify, then let them agree to disagree. And continue to lead them to maturity seeking how God would lead them (as He would a little child.) We ask it in Jesus’ Name, Amen

Father Thank yo ufor the many people my brothers and sisters in Christ who are willing to concentrate on praying for Baghdad and Iraq. Father we are in one accord for unity to begin in Iraw and Baghdad = we see it with the miltary and the police working hand in hand to rid the country and cities of the terrorists – we pray for the government to do the same – let the leaders put down their differences, let the Sunni’s and Shites forgive one another for their trangressions against one another and move forward – You are the one true God = Father let them see that as well and that You are sovereign
Help us Lord as we continue to pray for our service people as well as the many people committed to helping Iraq.
We ask these things in Your Most Precious Son’s Name

    Jean Says:

Dear Father in Heaven, I pray again for stability to be restored in Baghdad and I pray that the Iraqi troops and police will be able to act strongly and effectively to help establish that stability. Please watch over them, since many times the news has told us that they have been the selected targets of those who would like to keep that nation in a state of turmoil and conflict. I pray for their safety and deliverance from intended harm. I pray that they will conduct themselves with integrity, and will exercise compassion for the weak and needy citizens they encounter. I pray that You will provide them will the resources they need to be effective peacekeepers in their homeland and I pray that as they apply themselves to the tasks at hand that many will consider You and turn to Your ways and Your will for their lives. May Your perfect will be done in Baghdad today, and might the enemy be put to flight. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
