18-Unity Among the Troops and Police

“There was a period of time when coalition forces had to urge Iraqi forces to fight. That is not the case anymore. They are not only capable of fighting, but they want to fight for a sovereign Iraq.”
-Brig. Gen. Dana Pittard, commander, Iraqi Assistance Group, to reporters in Baghdad March 11.

Scripture: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!” -Psalm 133:1

Prayer: Lord, You count the stars and You know them all by name. You measure the waves of the sea and place boundaries on its shores. You know the hairs on my head and the thoughts and intentions of my heart. Nothing escapes Your notice, there is no one else like You.

soldier_police.jpgLord, I thank you for the brave men and women of the Iraqi police force and army. I ask for Your blessing of unity to be on them as they work along side the allied troops.

I focus on the military operations today in Baghdad, and I ask for your grace and favor to be with teams as they go out: help them to move together in unity, and to function as one cohesive unit. Knit them together, Lord, into a solid force for peace, and give them victory after victory today as they patrol the city. In Jesus name, amen.

    Lord, we give you the praise and the glory for the police and military working as one unit to bring peace to their nation. Give them strength and courage as they put their life on the line for their country, just as our soldiers are doing for them. Lord, they are brave and we ask you to give them peace. Guide their every step as they patrol the cities trying to find insurgents who don’t want peace in the Mideast. Bring salvation to Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran Lord. They need to know that you are their only hope. In Jesus name, Amen

    Jean Says:

    Dear Father in Heaven, please bless and encourage the brave Iraqis who defied threats made against them to enter into their nations’ security forces, whether troops or police. Please watch over their safety. May they conduct their work with integrity, equally protecting the right of all who love justice, peace and truth in Iraq, without preference for ethnic or sectarian background. I know their forces might be spread thin at times, but may they particularly be able to discern the hidden pockets of violence and terror that would bring threats against innocent people in Iraq, and may they be able to thwart every plan devised in wickedness and protect the safety of the people against the plans of terror. In Jesus’ Holy Name. Amen.

    Dear Lord, we know that the Moslim faith is THE premier unifying force in that region. But we also know from many testimonies that Jesus is appearing to many Moslims and they are turning to the True God, Jesus Christ. We thank you so much for this salvation in the 1040 window. So many have paid the martyr’s price for this Harvest of souls. Bless the ones who walk daily in danger that have left the old faith for the true faith. Bless them with protection and revelatory knowledge so that they can know how to live daily surrounded by a sea of enemies. Thank GOd that our US SOldiers are still there to hold the peace. Maybe the Lord will return before we entirely pull out!
    In Jesus Name we pray, strengthen the Christians that are holding forth the WORD of God, in those hostile regions and let the work of the US Soldiers who have died and gone Home to America remain in tact and flourish. In Jesus Name we pray, believing!!!! Amen.

    Ann from AL Says:

    Father, I know the plan is to pull our troops out of Iraq. So I ask that during this time you would empower the Iraqi forces to stand strong and in unity. That they would be well trained and not become rogue agents for the enemy. Draw them by your Spirit through our troops who are strong believers into that personal relationship with your Holy Spirit. May they seek and find ALL truth and no longer be blinded by the adversary. Open their eyes to see that Yeshua is their Messiah and His sacrifice paid for all their sins. Give them dreams and visions so they can understand who You really are. in Jesus’ name. AMEN

    Joel 2
    An Army of Locusts
    1 Blow the trumpet in Zion;
    sound the alarm on my holy hill.
    Let all who live in the land tremble,
    for the day of the LORD is coming.
    It is close at hand-
    2 a day of darkness and gloom,
    a day of clouds and blackness.
    Like dawn spreading across the mountains
    a large and mighty army comes,
    such as never was of old
    nor ever will be in ages to come.

    3 Before them fire devours,
    behind them a flame blazes.
    Before them the land is like the garden of Eden,
    behind them, a desert waste—
    nothing escapes them.

    4 They have the appearance of horses;
    they gallop along like cavalry.

    Oh Lord, God of all, victory is in our sights! The report of the
    commander this March is reason to shout for joy! We shout with the Iraqi people! Father I think of Psalm 90 and ask that for the years they’ve seen evil and been afflicted let them now be tripled, quadrupled with joy! Let the Favor of the Lord be upon them as You confirm the work of their hands! Let the unity of the militarys be so evident and You receive the Glory! God Bless Iraq and her people today! In Jesus name, amen!

    Lord God I praise Your Holy Name. I pray for the military and the Iraqi police to work well together with integrity and dignity. Help them to “watch the others’ back”. I pray that as they work together that they realize they are not so different from the other. Help the police officers to learn from the troops so that when the troops leave, they will be able to work on their own. Please keep them all safe.
    In Jesus’ Precious and Holy Name. Amen.

    Lord God, We mourn the loss of our brothers/sisters who were slain in northern Iraq. “The blood of the martyrs waters the growth of the church.” I ask you to hear their blood from the soil and come against the spirit who is blinding the Iraqi people to truth and light so that they kill Christians. Bring unity to the WHOLE people of Iraq by your supernatural power. In Jesus Name Amen

    Father, I thank you that a new mindset is being introduced to the Iraqi people. It is hard for all things to fall away so I ask that you inspire them to learn new ways; to walk together in unity as a nation instead of tribes. We are individual states but we walk together in unity to make our nation great. Father, I thank you that by your Spirit things will change; not by might nor power. May the Iraqi people have peace this year and stand together to fight the enemies who seek to destroy them. In Jesus’ name. amen
