18-Unity Among the Troops and Police

Progress:

“There was a period of time when coalition forces had to urge Iraqi forces to fight. That is not the case anymore. They are not only capable of fighting, but they want to fight for a sovereign Iraq.”
-Brig. Gen. Dana Pittard, commander, Iraqi Assistance Group, to reporters in Baghdad March 11.

Scripture: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!” -Psalm 133:1

Prayer: Lord, You count the stars and You know them all by name. You measure the waves of the sea and place boundaries on its shores. You know the hairs on my head and the thoughts and intentions of my heart. Nothing escapes Your notice, there is no one else like You.

soldier_police.jpgLord, I thank you for the brave men and women of the Iraqi police force and army. I ask for Your blessing of unity to be on them as they work along side the allied troops.

I focus on the military operations today in Baghdad, and I ask for your grace and favor to be with teams as they go out: help them to move together in unity, and to function as one cohesive unit. Knit them together, Lord, into a solid force for peace, and give them victory after victory today as they patrol the city. In Jesus name, amen.

Thank You for this day. Thank You for the many successes in Iraq. Thank You for bravery and good hearts of our troops and the Iraqi people. Thank You for the peace, unity, and trust that has grown between them all. Your Holy Spirit is wonderful. Please Father keep them covered with the Holy Spirit for protection and guidance always. Please protect the Christians. I pray this blessing of freedom opens all doors for Your truth in all the region. “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then, and do not let yourselves be burdened by a yoke of slavery…The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” (Gal. 5). By Your will and by the hard work, unity and sacrifice of decent men and women, this is what was hoped for here, freedom and love. Thank You Father for helping us and letting this happen to bring Your light in this part of the world. Please always be with all us as the spiritual battle is never over. In Jesus name, I pray and trust, Amen. Congratulations Fallujah!!

I just bless you all (troops, civilians, etc.) in Messiah Jesus’ name! Pray you have more time to meditate upon the Bible & spend quality time focused in upon Him that knoweth all things (1Jn. 3:20) & alone can resolve all the crazy issues of our world!!! Be encouraged: “For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, [then] have we confidence toward God.” – 1Jn. 3:20-21

Thank You Father for hearing our prayers. Thank You for helping the people of Iraq to get to where they are now, a long way from where they have come. I pray that You keep them in Your favor and under Your protection. I pray the Holy Spirit continues to open eyes, hearts, arms, and doors. May this always lead to You Lord. Please bring unity, trust, friendship among the police and military as they work toward common goals. Help them become unified so solidly that nothing can break them down or threaten their security, homes or nation. Help them know Your sweet Jesus. Please protect our brave peacekeepers. In Jesus name I pray in faith, Amen.

    Janice from Georgia Says:

    Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your many favorable responses to the prayers posted on this website. You have listened and acted and given us hope for a good future for Baghdad and Iraq. Thank You, and again I say, thank You. This day we hold up to You for blessing the police and troops in Baghdad and Iraq. Please may each individual working in those capacities be touched with a sense of humbleness and realization that without their partners they become ineffective. Please place together those who would be most compatible and would gel as one working together effectively toward their goals. Please make a way for at least one of the partners or teams to be a Christian who is brave enough to share Christ with others in such a manner that Christ can be seen as an ally, a true friend in times of trouble and a Savior for all times. May the Christians add salt to all the relationships so that they as a whole take on the flavor of Christ. I pray this is within Your will and that Your kingdom will be increased by the blessing of the police and troops in Baghdad and Iraq. Through Jesus, Amen

    Jean Says:

Loving Heavenly Father, I want to thank and praise You for every member of the military, both foreign and indigenous, and every police officer who has put himself in harm’s way in order to win safety for others, both in Iraq and also in Afghanistan. May these brave men and women be able to see good results for their efforts and may they continue to press on for victory in unity and strength. I pray great comfort for those who have lost loved ones who served in these conflicts, dear Lord. May they always find You a very present Comforter and Help in time of need and may all who have benefitted from the sacrifice of their loved one remember to show their appreciation for the good that has been done for them. Give great wisdom to the commanders in these conflicts and may there be much gain made daily as the troops and police move forward for the establishment of peace in those lands. Give them confidence, great wisdom and vision Dear Lord, and may Your safety cover and shield them like a garment. In Jesus’ Precious and Lovely Name. Amen.

    Jeanne Says:

Heavenly Father, In Your Word, You say there is a time for war ~ Eccl. 3:8b “A time of war, And a time of peace.” Lord, we know that this is not teaching that everything has an opportune time according to which one should choose one action or the other. But Lord we know that all events are in Your Hand, Dear God, You who makes everything happen in the time You judge appropriate. So, with this war in Iraq, we know You are in control of it all and we thank you that the Iraqiforces are able and willing to fight for a sovereign Iraq. In Jesus’ precious name – Amen.
