18-Unity Among the Troops and Police

“There was a period of time when coalition forces had to urge Iraqi forces to fight. That is not the case anymore. They are not only capable of fighting, but they want to fight for a sovereign Iraq.”
-Brig. Gen. Dana Pittard, commander, Iraqi Assistance Group, to reporters in Baghdad March 11.

Scripture: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!” -Psalm 133:1

Prayer: Lord, You count the stars and You know them all by name. You measure the waves of the sea and place boundaries on its shores. You know the hairs on my head and the thoughts and intentions of my heart. Nothing escapes Your notice, there is no one else like You.

soldier_police.jpgLord, I thank you for the brave men and women of the Iraqi police force and army. I ask for Your blessing of unity to be on them as they work along side the allied troops.

I focus on the military operations today in Baghdad, and I ask for your grace and favor to be with teams as they go out: help them to move together in unity, and to function as one cohesive unit. Knit them together, Lord, into a solid force for peace, and give them victory after victory today as they patrol the city. In Jesus name, amen.

    Janice from Georgia Says:

    Heavenly Father,

I come before You with Jesus leading the way. It is the Way You acknowledge as the only Way. I bring my requests to You, Father, through Jesus. You have ordered our prayer life to do so. Thank You for Jesus and what He means to believers. We come today to request that the police and troops in Baghdad and Iraq would act in unity. Let their organizations be so structured that they intertwine and form a strong cord, never tangled, but always going out in the world to roundup the enemy forces so victory may be declared. Thank You for Your working through the two combined forces to hold them in place together with their goal being in unity meeting Your needs and will each day in Baghdad and Iraq. Victory, Lord, victory with resultant peace, please, Lord, for Baghdad and Iraq. Through Jesus, Amen

Omnipotent GOD, “Who is like You, majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?”
(Ex. 15:11). We pray for the salvation of the people of Baghdad. May the people walking in darkness [see] a great light—may those living in the land of the shadow of death see the light [that] has dawned (Is. 9:2). JESUS, You are that light. Would You reveal Yourself to all unbelievers there, including our own military personnel, in dreams and visions, signs and wonders? Grant that believers in Baghdad will love, serve, and win their neighbors. As we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we pray for the peace of Baghdad—You, JESUS.
In Your name and by the power of Your blood, AMEN!

Father, We praise you for the unity that is being experienced and enjoyed by the troops and other law enforcement agencies in Iraq and Afganistan. We stand in agreement with Your will for these countries and these peoples. If You are for Iraq and Afganistan, who can be against then? No weapon formed will prosper against Your will. We declare that the people of Iraq, Afganistan and those troops who are presently protecting them have unity of mind and purpose and nothing shall be impossible for them. With God all things are possible. Iraq and Afganistan are free of militant terrorists and peace reigns over both nations. In Jesus’ Name. Amen

    Barbara C. Says:

Father-God, how blessed is this world because Your love is in it. Oh Father, let us not become negligent in our prayers for the US military and allied forces. Keep intercessors single-eyed on Your cause and holy purpose concerning this war and the holy compassion which drives us to help this city, this nation, obtain freedom from the bondage they have lived in for so long. THANK YOU, GOD, that freedom IS possible in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I ask that our troops would be solely empowered by Your hand and that they might be truly considered as co-laborers in Your roving eye. Bless them and bless those Iraqi citizens who are stepping up in eagerness to learn to police their own land. Protect them, enlighten them both in natural and spiritual “watchman” skills, and bring them to that “expected end” of knowing that YOU are the GOD to be worshipped, YOu are the GOD to be served, Hallelujah! We pray for their physical safety, but more than that, we yearn for their eternal safety spiritually! In JESUS’ name, I speak into Your ear for their souls, BELIEVING that You hear and desire to answer with a resounding corporate “YES, I WILL.” Thank You for being SUCH an ultimate FATHER to YOUR PEOPLE! Hallelujah and AMEN!

Thank You Father for this day. You are our Father, creator of all, our maker, our provider, our protector, our spirit lifter, our teacher, you bring us nourishment, encouragement, enlightenment, spiritual sight, wisdom, discipline, divine help, miracles, and hope through Jesus. Knowing that You love us is what brings us reason to go on. Please Father fill the our peace keepers and Iraqi soldiers and officials with a divine sense of purpose to do Your will together in brotherly love under the guidance and protection of the Holy spirit and with Jesus leading the way. Allow them to see and know it is You. This I pray with all my heart in Jesus mighty name forever, Amen.

    Elizabeth T. Says:

    Dear Lord G-d the Father:
We acknowledge that our success in Iraq is due to You and You alone. You have graciously bent your ear to our cries. You have answered from Your Ancient Royal Throne and given us our requests. You have used our Soldiers as Your hands and feet.
We fall upon our knees in thanksgiving and tears of relief. If you can do this mighty act in Iraq and cause the coalition forces to be “winning that is for sure”, as a US Soldier recently told me, then You can do this for Afghanistan, Jerusalem and Israel!
We call upon Your Majesty as the G-dhead of all Creation, and ask for legions and legions of angels to invade the war zones of Iraq, Afhanistan, Jerusalem, Israel.
Let them devastate utterly the strongholds of evil, wickedness in hidden places, and flood your eternal Light to expose and eliminate their positions and power.
Dispell lies and replace with Truth. Let Your Kingdom arrive and prevail never to be rooted out again in these areas.
Let hands and hearts unite of all that earnestly seek peace. In Jesus Name and no other. Amen

  10. 229
    Matt Says:

Dear Father, in addition to these requests, I ask that You would use this unity for the glory of Your Kingdom. Equip Your people in Iraq to witness of You to all those about them. Cause our soldiers who are Christians to brightly shine Your light to the coalition soldiers. Please give them the words to say, and the strength to say it, in order to spread Your Gospel. We claim Your Power over each training relationship. Be glorified through the lives of Your people!

    Sharon W. Says:

Father, you alone are worthy of all our praise and worship. We give you thanks and glory for the beginnings of peace in Baghdad and Iraq. You and you alone raise up the poor and needy. You make the crooked paths straight and break the bars of iron. You alone can break the bars of iron that Satan and his demons have placed around Baghdad and all throughout Iraq. So we pray again today for victory and peace to reign in this country. We ask for guidance for our military leaders and the political leaders of our country. We ask for wisdom for the leaders of our country in dealing with the threat of terror. In the name of Jesus, I pray.

  12. 227

We thank You for the unity that has taken place between the Iraqi police force and army and for them working compatiable alongside the allied troops. We pray that their hearts remain soft and pliable and that they learn that a house divided cannot stand. We pray that their unity grows so strong that it cannot be shaken, asking this in Jesus’ name. Sherrill Says:

Father, in a few days our state will be voting for the leader of this nation. Yesterday the Pakistanis voted for the leader of their nation. This is a time of decisions – i.e., the Book of Joel. Father, You said You would give us wisdom when we ask in faith. Father, we ask in faith today to lead us to make the right decisions. We ask in Jesus’ Name, Amen

    Lily Says:

Thank You Lord for saving my soul! Thank You for protecting our Troops during the night. Thank you for the favor which you have shown to the Iraqui police force; You have used the good examples of our Troops and Civillians for Baghdad police to imitate.
    May our troops every deed and action be dictated from the examples of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In Your word Lord, You said; TO COME TASTE OF THE LORD;HE IS GOOD: May our Troops show forth the characteristics of Christ himself;
    1. Slow to anger
    2. Loving and kind
    3. Put others before himself
    5. Compassionate to all!
Father, this just names a few of Jesus traits; but let these be in the hearts and mind of our Leaders: Now I pray forth the individual Christ Angels to be used to in unifying our Troops and the Iraqui police force.
Thank You Lord for what You are about to do, in Jesus name,

    June Says:

Lord you have commanded a blessing where people live and work together in your name and in a spirit of unity and constancy. For those who are serving in the police and military I pray that you will increase their levels of trust and confidence in your power working through them. I pray that they do not become full of self-pride or self-confidence, but that they humble themselves before you and work together with you in peace to bring and to keep peace. AMEN

    Mary Says:

Heavenly Father, we come humbly glorifying You and asking your protection over all the troops,
those from the US and the Iraq and Afganistan
troops and police who are so valiantly fighting to
protect the common people of both nations from the
enemy and those who serve him and are trying to disrupt the peace and security of these nations.

We ask for the Holy Spirit to convict the people
who are being protected that their hearts will be
softened and they will come to know You and our
Precious Saviour, Your Son JESUS. In his most
    glorious name we pray, Amen.

    Lynn Says:

Dear Jesus, thank You for this avenue we have so that we, the BPP, can come together in unity and raise up these petitions to You. Grant each of us, as prayer warriors, protection so that we may all continue on the mission You have given us to pray for the Baghdad cause, and all it encompasses. Father, continue to bring unity to the soldiers – our military and that of Iraq – so that peace and friendships may be firmly held in that area. It would be good, and Your will, if our soldiers who know You would be witnesses to them for You, and bring them to know Your Truth. Keep them all safe, protect them with Your mighty right hand. I would ask a special request for relief from discouragement for our soldiers who have been away from their loved ones a long time and are in need of a special lift. Give them a ride on Your wings, Mighty Savior, that their hearts will fly with You and find rest and relief. I pray this all in Your Holy Name, Jesus.

I thank you for your scriptures that said it`Your desire for people to live and work together in unity and mutual support. I pray You Lord will equipped the troops in Baghdad to come in Your love that all the enemy will flee from the power of darkness as the light shines forth in Iraq. Let Your Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven. Let each one who carries Your glory in Iraq, claim every place their feet tread, for You. Lord, draw the people by Your Spirit. We ask special grace and help for the leaders of the surge in Iraq. You are God and God alone without you we have no one to turn to, we bow before you. In the sweet name of Jesus we pray. Amen

Dear heavenly Father we come to you because you are the almighty God who rules and reighns over the earth. We have peace in our hearts because of this. What we ask for as we humbly come to you is for peace in the middle east. Land where you walked when here on earth. We long for these people to live in unity and stop this warring. This is our prayer tonight. May there be no deaths throughout Iraq or Afganistan. Protect each one there we pray in your Holy name Lord Jesus. Amen

    Jean Says:

Dear Loving Father in Heaven, I pray to day for right to prevail in Baghdad and in Afghanistan and that wrong will fail. Dear Lord, often in Scriptures You have expressed You desire for people to live and work together in unity and mutual support. May this develop in Baghdad more and more and result in the Iraqi police and troops being equipped for the defence of their own nation. I pray that the enemy’s intentions to disrupt unity and cause trouble and divisions will not succceed but rather that Your will prevail. May this be so in Afghanistan as well and may Your will be done there as well and Your intentions for that land fulfilled. In Jesus’ Precious Name. Amen.

    Lois Lively Says:

Father, I come before you and ask humbly that you would be lifted up and given praise that you so richly deserve. You are our King and Lord, who rules over the heavens and earth on your throne. Your love is rich and pure, and the Holy Spirit is our strength and guide given by you in love. YOU ARE LOVE, PEACE, HOPE, AND YOUR FAITH IS ENDLESS. YOUR LOVE AND FAITH ENDURES FOREVER.

Father, bring forth Your unity between our troops and the Iraqi army. Help them to stand by each other and support each others back. May there be harmony amongst the people there in Iraq, Middle East, and Afhanistan with our men and women helping them gain back their life and land from the enemy. Protect them Father under your wings and give them the courage and strenght that you gave the Israelites when they went into battle trusting you to help them fight the battle. YOU ARE OUR BANNER, SHIELD, FORTRESS, AND STRONG TOWER. THERE IS KNOW ONE ELSE THAT CAN TAKE YOUR PLACE FOR YOUR REIGN AS OUR WARRIOR. I pray this in the name of Jesus and say all glory is yours. Amen

    Janice from Georgia Says:

    Heavenly Father,

People are so aware of that just right feeling of falling into unison with another when trying to meet a goal. There is an in sync feeling. I ask that the Iraqi police would know that feeling when they work together toward victory with the allied troops. Let them recognize that their combined efforts can do more than when they work apart as individuals. I pray that You would be the glue that just won’t let go when they try to pull apart and work separately. Hold up for display examples of their finest results based on team work so others will be motivated to do their best as team members. You God are the ultimate example of good teamwork as You are One with three parts, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, all working toward Your goal of victory over Satan and evil in the world. May all glory go to You when victory is achieved by the Iraqi police and allied troops working as one force. You are such an awesome God in how You make good come out of evil, how You can put just the right people together at just the right time to do Your will. I praise You Lord. Through Jesus, Amen
