8-Favor for the Police and the Troops

Scripture: “And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us…” -Psalm 90:17

Prayer: Father, we thank You that You are a God who hears and a God who cares. You hung all the stars in the sky and not one of them is missing. You know when we sit down and when we stand up, and nothing escapes Your notice.

soldier-helps-child.jpgJesus, we ask for Your help in granting our soldiers favor with the Iraqi people. Where there have been offenses, we ask for things to be repaired, and for trust to be restored and even increased. We ask that good deeds would not go unnoticed, and that those who are the recipients will tell many others the story of the goodness that was shown to them.

Lord, let the bonds of trust and partnership increase through favor with the Iraqi people. We ask for an atmosphere of goodwill to come down and favor that promotes partnership for a free Iraq. We ask for Your divine help, in Jesus name. Amen.

Dear Lord, it is true that we in Canada see ourselves differently from Americans. We see ourselves as more laidback, ready to serve our neighbours – essentially know our neighbours. Every country where both armies have served, the Canadians are seen as more self-effacing and happily self-deprecating. And so it is a surprise to see this picture with an American soldier putting on new, blue sandals to a wee tiny tot. I believe our daily prayers have instilled a greater good in not only the formerly ready-to-be-bribed Iraqi police but also a more friendly, easier to be trusted American trooper.
This is so overwhelming, I cannot tell you the joy it brings because for many decades I like so many Canadians have remained smug in how we are seen around the world. What a wonderful thing that we are all evening out. Thank you Dear Lord for more miracles You have wrought.

Dear Father in Heaven, I would like also to join RW’s prayer for the troops and chaplain who have been delayed on their return home. Please be very present with them to help them through this setback, and with their anxious families. May they have the ability to encourage one another and to not loose heart. I pray for the chaplain’s restored health. Father, these men and women have already done so much. Please have mercy on their time of need just now, and may all this work out for good and for the furthering of Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, I praise You for Your goodness to all and rejoice to know Your salvation. Dear Father, today I would like to pray for the commanders of the troops in Iraq and in Afghanistan for wisdom to learn how to communicate good intentions to the citizens of those lands, and then for great insight into how to most effectively lead their troops to apply that wisdom. Might there be no misunderstandings, but an ability to share information and freely express intentions. Might this lead to an openness of sharing by which the citizens of the land and the troops can work together effectively for restoration and healing of the land. In Jesus’ dear Name. Amen.

Oh Father we come before you today asking you to protect the military men and women that are to have been home last Tuesday and their plane broke down in Kuwaite. We understand that the weather is freezing there and they have no heat in the building that they are in , waiting for a replacement plane. Father you know that Chaplain Daniel has gotten sick and has a fever . Oh Father this is the time for a miracle. Heal him Father and allow his to join his troops in the plane on the way home safely. At this time they will not let him come home until his fever has broken. His anxious parents are in Texas and have been waiting since Tuesday for his arrival. Give them peace in knowing that you are in control. Thank you for hearing and answering our prayers. In the precious name of Jesus our Savior, AMEN

Thank You Lord for all You have already done and will do for Your loved ones.

Merciful God of heaven and earth, hallowed be Your precious name. You are God alone and there is no other like You. I come to You in faith and believing in Your limitless power and infinite wisdom over all of creation asking a blessing on Your children in Sadr City, Iraq. Be with our sons and daughters and brothers and sisters in the military as they walk through the streets of this area of conflict. Send Your heavenly angels to walk with each and every one of these precious souls to keep them from harm and to guide their actions as they minister to the Iraqi people as Your ambassadors. Let Your legions of warrior angels go before these brave men and women to conquer their adversaries both in this physical world and in the spirit world also. Help the Iraqi people understand and embrace the idea that we are trying to provide the freedom to live their lives as You intended, free of fear and calamity with the right of choice, to know You and Your Son as we do without any threat of being harmed regardless of what they choose. Thank You Father God for Your divine intervention that has made all of Iraq and especially Sadr City a safer place for the Iraqi people to begin to rebuild their lives. Continue to rain down Your blessings for growth and prosperity for all the people of this region who are willing to accept the peace they are now being offered.

Shine Your righteous light on the cowardly criminals and terrorists in that area so that their identities will be exposed and they can be detained and prevented from doing anyone any further harm. Embolden the Iraqi people to step forward more and more to assume responsibility for their neighborhoods and communities. Supernaturally intercede in the plots and plans of the adversaries so as to deny them any success of their designs. Take the hatred and anger from the hearts of these poor misguided souls who are struggling against freedom in the name of Jihad and replace it with Your heavenly love, peace and grace. I thank You Lord for the blessing that I know You have now released into the lives of the soldiers that are patrolling today. Keep them all safe and bring them home to their loved ones as soon as they have done all You have purposed them to do. In all things, let Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I claim the promise and victory of our Redeemer Jesus Christ over all I have asked. These things I pray in faith and certainty of the power of the most holy name of our Lord and savior, Christ Jesus. Amen and amen

Lord Jesus, Thank you for the men and women serving in Iraq and around the world. Thank you for their willingness to serve. We have so many who are men and women of great character and we praise you for that. We ask Lord that in these trying times you encourage them. Help them to stand strong against the temptations around them. Encourage them to serve with gladness the Iraqi people they are there to protect. I pray Lord that as they move in the midst of these neighborhoods that goodwill will increase and that new bonds of friendships will be established and trust strengthened. Lord, we give you the Praise and Honor for all that is done. Guard these men and women, keep them safe. In Jesus name, Amen.

    Joan Bowe Says:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for this day and for the things You are doing in Iraq. What an awesome God we serve and all glory and honor is Your’s, oh Lord.

Father, as we stand in agreement with the prayers that have been offered up to You, we want to especially thank You for working in the hearts of the Iraqi people and the servicemen over there, as well as the police who are striving to bring order and justice to the land. Holy One, without You, all is for naught. Please reveal Yourself to these dear people and bridge any gap that they enemy might try to make amongst them. Bring a unity in purpose to them all, that the dear people will have a chance at freedom and able to maintain it. Lord, even more we ask that they might come to liberty that goes beyond the natural, whether it be the Iraqi people or our soldiers there. We lift them all up to You, asking for a supernatural encounter that leaves no doubt to Who You are and Who the One You sent to save them is. Let it be so, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

    Janice from Georgia Says:

    Dear Heavenly Father,

Through Jesus I approach Your throne. You are so mighty and awesome, so above the ability of words to express. Thank You for receiving me into Your presence along with receiving all the others in the Baghdad Prayer Patrol at their times of prayer. We love our neighbors in Baghdad and also we love the troops and police there who work so hard each day to stabalize and bring peace to stay. We ask that You would let favor toward one another be the reconciling factor between the people, the troops and the police. Let them look to each other with expectations that they will each do the best good that they can to the other. Oh, Lord, sometimes it seems that confusion wants to reign in human relationships and there are misunderstandings even when someone tries their best to do a good turn toward another. I pray that Your spirit of love will shine forth through any misunderstandings so that even if there are a few tense moments all will be resolved to a favorable opinion of each other as the final outcome of any misinterprtations of what good has been done. We thank You for giving Your good and perfect gift of favor to the troops and police and the people in Baghdad and Iraq. Amen

    Sherrill Says:

Father, we look to You for the answers. They elude us. Greed seems to prevail and companies seem to be selling our country for merely greater profits. We know none of this means defeat for us as long as we put our trust in You. We trust You, Lord. Amen

    Faye Says:

Father God: Please let the troops work together for the good of all in Bagdhad. Give them wisdom and discernment in doing their tasks. Please place a wall around all of those serving in Iraq, especially Bagdhad. Please keep Chuck safe as he is there to send the story back to us.Please God, bless him and every troop in Bagdhad today. In Jesus’ Precious and Holy Name I pray. Amen

Thank you Lord for the happy news story on TV today about the little Iraqui girl whose sight was made posssible through surgery in the Us thanks to the initiative of an American serviceman and the funds raised by schoolchildren iin a town in the US. Let there be many instances of blessing and healing that arise from the ruins of the cities and the communities of Iraq, as well as Afghanistan and Sudan and other places. Let hearts be touched and the tides of public opinion be turned from anti-American and anti-western to friendship. And also, cleanse and purify the hearts of those in the military since they have such a key role–let them turn to God for thir standards and their strength, and cancel the efects of violent media and entertainment on their souls and spirits. Give them a hunger for you, Lord.

    In Jesus’ name,

Judith Connell, Greenbank, On., Canada Says:

A prayer for favour in the eyes of the enemy and in the eyes of the poor and the trapped is so wonderful because when answered according to the Lord’s will will be a most joyous occasion.

We encourage the troops and workers to keep themselves pure in order to help facilitate God’s wisdom. Lord, may we all keep ourselves pure in Your sight so that You may work with us. It is a great thing to be obedient to the Lord.

    Sherrill J Says:

Father God, as we approach the holiday season, please remind our troops that they are remembered and appreciated. Let none be overlooked at this special time of year as cards, letters, and packages arrive at the vatious units. May they find favor with even their enemies and may those who have been enemies change their minds and stop their violence against their fellow Iraqis and our troops. We look forward to the day when all the terrorism that is being generated by fear and self promoting agendas will cease. We pray that justice and righteousness will replace the anger, fear, and false reasonings of the enemy.
To You be all glory and praise as You bring Your Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven.

    Jean Says:

Dear Father in Heaven, thank You so much for our Lord Jesus Christ Who ever lives to make intercession for us. Father I am aware of how much I need His help today, having challenged the work of the enemy and finding that in myself I am no match for the power of evil who attacks us in our thoughts and circumstances. May Your holy will alone be done in the hearts and minds of all who call upon Your name and especially strengthen and help the intercessors who are standing in the gap because of awareness of evil that challenges Your purposes and Your kingdom. Dear Father, I pray in Baghdad today that any who have opportunity to do good to others will do whatever they can. I pray that wherever there are troops serving in the name of justice, truth and freedom that they will serve with integrity and compassion, that You might be able to use them and so that they can win the trust and respect of the people they have come to help. I pray that the people might be helped out of oppression and darkness and that Your Kingdom will come to that area. Father please help any among the troops who are simply weary because of difficulties and the need for rest. May times of rest and refreshment be found for them and may they be encouraged by seeing good results and great progress in their efforts to bring about a peaceful resolution. It takes great skill and hope to do this, dear Lord. May they depend on You for their help. I know You will not disappoint them. In Jesus’ Precious Name. Amen.

Our Great God, everyday we personally need Your wisdom, goodwill and trust of us. We ask these things everyday for all those serving in any capacity in Iraq. We bow low to You in requesting the resulting peace that will come to Iraq and agree to our efforts in aiding both those wishing to harm Iraq and those who want only peace. We worship You Lord and hope You will show us Your love in this matter.

Inspire Your servants in Karrada to give cups of cold water in the Name of Him who is Living Water. Cause the fruit of Your kindness and goodness to be manifested in the words and deeds of our soldiers and Your Saints that many would be drawn to the True and Living God.

    Loretta Worthy Says:

Father, Thank you for favor–for outrageous favor–for our service people with the Iraqi people and the government authorities. Make them to have favor even with those who think themselves to be their enemies and for those enemies to be at peace with them. Favor rests richly on them and profusely abounds in them. They experience God’s favor in all things immeasurably, limitlessly and surpssingly and experience great victories, recogniton, prominence, promotion, preferential treatment, policies and rules changed and battles won in which they do not have to fight. I pray for the Love of Christ to show through the troops and melt the hearts of those around them. At the same time, our troops are surrounded by protection and they are protected from those who resist the presence of Christ and who have a mind to harm them. I claim their covenant rights as believers and declare that nothing shall by any means hurt them. When they walk throught the fire, they will not be burned; when they go through the waters, it will not overflow them; they will not fear any terror or weapon by day or night for their lives are protected in Christ Jesus. The Kingdom of God rules over all the earth and Jesus is Lord. Amen.
