8-Favor for the Police and the Troops

Scripture: “And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us…” -Psalm 90:17

Prayer: Father, we thank You that You are a God who hears and a God who cares. You hung all the stars in the sky and not one of them is missing. You know when we sit down and when we stand up, and nothing escapes Your notice.

soldier-helps-child.jpgJesus, we ask for Your help in granting our soldiers favor with the Iraqi people. Where there have been offenses, we ask for things to be repaired, and for trust to be restored and even increased. We ask that good deeds would not go unnoticed, and that those who are the recipients will tell many others the story of the goodness that was shown to them.

Lord, let the bonds of trust and partnership increase through favor with the Iraqi people. We ask for an atmosphere of goodwill to come down and favor that promotes partnership for a free Iraq. We ask for Your divine help, in Jesus name. Amen.

    Heavenly Father,

In Baghdad and in all of Iraq there are police and troops who are working awfully hard to preserve the peace and make a better way of life for the average citizen. I pray the efforts of these servants of the people will be recognized for their sacrifice and for the ways they help people in the land to enjoy their lives without fear of violence. I pray for favor to come from the people of the land and also from You. Please smile down on them and give them special blessings. You know who the givers are and I pray You will bless them according to their commitment to give even their very life if called upon in the heat of battle. Thank You Lord for Your many blessings already given today and thank You for the forthcoming blessings to be received. I also pray You will be praised for the blessings You bestow for without You there would be no blessings whatsoever. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen

Father, You are great and mighty, majestic in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders. You alone can produce good relationships between the Iraqis and the soldiers serving in the land. So, we call upon You to do that which we cannot do ourselves. Cause the soldiers to be men and women of integrity, determined to please you in all that they do and say. Be exalted in their lives. help them to let their light so shine that others would see their good works and glorify You Who are in Heaven. Be exalted, lifted high, magnified and glorified over all of Iraq today, and particularly in the suburb of Dawrah. Dear Father, thank You, because I truly believe You will answer to prayer for today’s focus. I believe that Iraq will soon be able to relax from the sorrows and troubles of war, and that the laughter of children at play will be heard. Please give great wisdom to the leaders and the authorities to watch out for any remaining trouble spots and to react toward them swiftly and effectively, in order to bring peace and healing to that nation. May the troops that remain in that nation be able to give good assistance in the rebuilding and in the establishment of security, and may they be able to do so with gladness and with a good rapport among the people. Thank You for caring so much about us. In Jesus’ Lovely and Holy Name. Amen.

Oh dear Father, Lord God Almighty, there is none like You. You are our refuge, and a very present help in time of trouble. As the trouble in Baghdad increases, You say, through Your prophet, David, “Lord how are they increased that trouble me. Many there be that rise up against me. Many there be that say of my soul. ‘There is no help for him in God.’ But Thou, O Lord, art a shield for me, my glory and the lifter up of my head.”

Show Yourself strong on behalf of Your people in Baghda, Haifa, and all of Iraq. Succor the wounded, the bereaved, and the orphaned. Cause what the enemy has meant for evil to be for good. Do what only You can do, Lord. For I ask in the name of Your Son, Jesus, amen.
