5-A New Day For Baghdad

Scripture: “All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to Your name.” -Psalm 86:9

Prayer: Lord, we declare that the earth is the Yours and the fullness thereof. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the great creator, and in You we live and move and have our being.

baghdad_god_speaks.jpgFather, we ask for Your blessings to come down upon the city of Baghdad. We proclaim that this piece of geography would come under the sway of its Creator and that Baghdad would become a place of peace, and even a refuge of peace in the days to come. Father of mercy, release Your healing, and begin to realign this city with Your original destiny.

We agree that Your kingdom would come and Your will to be done in Baghdad. We ask that You would stop the people who want to cause further damage in this region, and raise up peacemakers: men and women of wisdom who can usher Baghdad forward into a season of fruitfulness and health. Nothing is too difficult for You dear Lord, and so today we ask for Your intervention and Your original intentions for this city to be secured. In Jesus name and for His name’s sake we ask this. Amen.

GOD of the universe, Your Word promises that, if JESUS is lifted up, He will draw men unto Himself. We ask that JESUS be lifted up over the people of Baghdad and our own troops through theophanies where He appears to them in dreams and visions, revealing that He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords and the Savior Who is longing for them to belong to Himself. JESUS, reveal Yourself to people of influence, governmental leaders, imams, clerics, businessmen, military leaders who will influence many others to come to You. We ask that believers in Baghdad would lift You up and that Your word would go forth in power and that You would supernaturally appear to many who would accept Your salvation. We claim Baghdad and all of Iraq and the Middle East for Your Kingdom!
In Your all-powerful Name, Amen and Amen!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Oh Father, how we praise you for all that you are doing in Iraq. We will never know all the details of what you are doing but we know you are working your mighty works and we praise you for it. We ask you to continue to work in hearts and lives of those that do not know you, including the evil ones. We ask you to bring them to their knees in repentance and hear your voice speaking to them and receive the wonderful gift that you have for them. The gift of eternal life in Jesus. Oh how we pray for many to come to know you as personal Savior. We thank you for all the details that you are doing in Iraq and around the world that we are totally unaware of to bring closer to the day when you return. Thank you for your love and guidance this day. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. AMEN

Judith Connell, Greenbank, On., Canada Says:

The songs from Heaven resound through this prayer to have the angry insurgents feel the work done by the angels on behalf of the Trinity.

Let them unconsciously turn to Your heart without noticing it. Because, Lord, we now know there are some very big targets left in Baghdad and they are the widows and orphans who are Christians led by an Anglican vicar who loves his service to these people who have lost at least a brother, a father, a grandfather or husband or son all slaughtered in the recent past. Yet they attend twice a week in the incredibly beautiful churchs knowing they are ‘sitting ducks’. There are spiritually fed and physically fed because the women left are ostracized and unable to work to provide food. They get a full meal twice a week.

A I told Wayne, I learned of this after watching 60 MINUTES on birthday on Dec. 2/07. Thanks be to God, someone else who direly requires prayer.

We thought all the non-government people had left Iraq or were dead as result of that incredible amount of kidnappings a while back. But no, the vicar who was sent by the Anglican Church 9 years ago still has MS and it’s getting worse. Maybe the terrorists leave him alone because of his impairment seeing him as weak and ineffective. Listening to him tells the truth and he is a real servant of God and frankly I would advise the trigger-happy killers would do well to give those Christian enclaves a wide-berth. God has angels on-duty for the women and children and we all would do well to PRAY strongly for them as well because they are so wonderful and I know they would do the same for any of us.

Bagdhad – City of Peace and Jerusalem – City of Peace – Christ, our soon-coming Bridegroom, we thank You for watching over both cities and the mothers and children therein!

    Angela Says:

    Dear Father God,
You are our Refuge & Strength, a very present help
in times of trouble. May Your rivers of living
water flow into this land. May it be said of
Baghdad: “God is within this city, God will help
the people of Baghdad at the break of day.
    The Lord Almighty is with
the people of Baghdad; the God of Jacob
    is Baghdad’s fortress.” Psalm 46:1-5 & 7
Oh Lord, remove the hearts of stone from the trouble makers in Baghdad and replace them with hearts that are receptive and responsive to You. Create in them clean hearts, Oh God, and renew
right spirits within in them. May they have a strong and burning desire to want to know You.
May they hunger and thirst for a personal relationship with You, so they may be transformed by the renewing of their minds in Christ Jesus.
Protect the innocent and peace loving people of
Iraq; and send Your holy angels to keep charge over all of the military, police and government forces working towards the goal of achieving peace and harmony in Iraq – Protect them in all their
ways. Give them all eagle eyes to foresee any dangers; and may every plan of the enemy be uncovered and prevented before any harm can be done. Bring healing to those who have been wounded
mentally or physically; and comfort those who have lost family, friends, or loved ones. You are our
    Redeemer, Restorer, Rebuilder, and Rewarder.
I claim Your divine intervention to bring our
military personnel home as soon as possible (safe and sound) in Jesus mighty name (THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES) Amen and Amen.

    MThompson Says:

    Dear American Soldiers:
Please read Isaiah 19 vs. 24 and 25: It talks about what YOU are doing – that is GOD’s hands and what your hands are doing.
“24. In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria (Iraq) even a blessing in the midst of the land:
“25. Whom the LORD of Hosts (The Lord of the Battle) shall bless, saying, Blessed be Eqypt my people, and Assyria (Iraq) the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.” Whose hands? The work of His Hands, through YOUR hands. I’m so sorry you have to suffer this way. But Jesus said “If ye suffer with me ye shall also reign with me.”
This present affliction is only for a season. Life with GOD is forever. We here in America ARE with you in spirit and in truth. Be comforted and let GOD’s peace come to you now. Love in Christ, MT

blessings on our troops and on the city of Baghdad. We
pray that You will destroy all those who are trying to disrupt

cernment needed to bring this conflict to a successful end.

Holy Father, The living God of all, first, forgive us for our sins and thank You for our redemption through the blood of the Living Christ. Remind us that You can do all things and that it is never how much we love you, instead, how much you love us. Grant us sanctuary when we are frighten and alone in a careless world and the bright lights of all tomorrows are hard to see through the darkest of night. We lift our family and friends – our children and our well being to Your Almighty safe keeping.

Thank You, dear Lord, for Your great mercies. Thank You for prayers answered, and the testimony of those who have experienced Your grace. Today again I join in prayer for Your will to be done in Baghdad and for Your purposes to be fulfilled in that city. Dear Father in Heaven, what joy it is to hear of those who have responded to You faithfully even in times of trouble and sometimes great isolation, and to hear of Your faithfulness to answer prayer. What a blessing to hear how You have been at work even in lands where it is very difficult to bear Your Name. Good does indeed triumph over adversity, and You have been so faithful to Your Word. Please remember the needy ones of Baghdad today and may they turn to You to seek their help. May all be done to Your honor and glory. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
