5-A New Day For Baghdad

Scripture: “All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to Your name.” -Psalm 86:9

Prayer: Lord, we declare that the earth is the Yours and the fullness thereof. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the great creator, and in You we live and move and have our being.

baghdad_god_speaks.jpgFather, we ask for Your blessings to come down upon the city of Baghdad. We proclaim that this piece of geography would come under the sway of its Creator and that Baghdad would become a place of peace, and even a refuge of peace in the days to come. Father of mercy, release Your healing, and begin to realign this city with Your original destiny.

We agree that Your kingdom would come and Your will to be done in Baghdad. We ask that You would stop the people who want to cause further damage in this region, and raise up peacemakers: men and women of wisdom who can usher Baghdad forward into a season of fruitfulness and health. Nothing is too difficult for You dear Lord, and so today we ask for Your intervention and Your original intentions for this city to be secured. In Jesus name and for His name’s sake we ask this. Amen.

    Betsy P. Says:

I love You, Lord, because You first loved me – a hopeless and helpless sinner without You. Father, this is true for all of the peoples of the Earth – we are all sinners. Cause the people of Baghdad, Dawrah, and all Iraq to recognize their need for You, for a Savior. And cause them to cry out to You for mercy. For they will receive Your mercy when they humble themselves before You. May blessings of compassion abound in Iraq today, Lord, in the name of Jesus, our compassionate Savior, amen.

    Mary T. Says:

Dear Lord: Thank you for Baghdad and it’s role in the Bible. The people must mean so much to you b/c a whole book, the book of Jonah, is in the eternal Book of Books, The Bible. You cared so much for them then, and you God “Change NOT”. Jonah was your man to go and preach repentence to Ninevah, that great city in Iraq. Jonah didn’t want to go. I’m sure many of our US Soldiers didn’t want to go either. The Assyrians, or present day Iraqi’s, were/are fierce and notable for their violent ways, but you cared for them SO MUCH, that you sent a Taxi service, the Whale Transportation Srvs., to pick up Jonah who was sailing in the opposite direction in fear and disgust for them. We all know the True Story….Jonah got there anyway. AND Jonah preached Repentence. And the people REPENTED! And Jonah got mad because God was loving and merciful to them. God said why are you so mad Jonah? There are so many people here including the cattle…God cared alot. Judgment was spared for 100 years it took effect, judgement did come but not for 100 years. So there is something about those people that they can repent. Many in America are too proud to repent. Yet what did Jesus say, “Unless ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish”. Not to mention the Tower of Babel where Nimrod built his plans that didn’t please God and GOd confounded their language and all the languages were instantly formed in full and caused the cessation of building a one world government at that time. Some other historical beginnings like Babylonian Gardens, one of the 7 wonders of the world….much Biblical destiny in Iraq. God had plans for them then and surely has plans for them now. Not to mention the US SOldiers that have died there making a difference for the peoples of Iraq so they can have a better future. Let them not have died in vain. Please. So Iraq, rise up and take off our grave clothes and COME FORTH LAZARUS! build, prosper, plant vineyards, watermelons, vegetables, feed your families, take them for picnics near the Euphrates River, live in peace and harmony and most of all find the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, and He will Bless you and prosper you. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

    Donna Says:

Father, as the day dawns in Baghdad, let Your light also rise in people’s hearts. I know that there are many who are seeking truth and righteousness. Fill them, LORD, with Your truth and Your righteousness. And if there are some who are seeking peace – let Your peace fall on them. And if there are some who seek healing, pour out Your Spirit on them and heal them. Father, show Your mercy and compassion and be glorified today in Baghdad. Amen

    Betsy P. Says:

Father, I worship You for who You are: the Ancient of Days, Creator, Father of Lights, Father of spirits, Father of comfort. You are so worthy.
We ask that Your spirit be poured out upon Baghdad, Dawrah section, and all of Iraq. May the sons and daughters prophesy, the old men dream dreams and the young men see visions, and on the servants and handmaidens in Iraq, please pour out of Your Spirit. May the numbers of peacemakers so overtake the numbers of warmongers that there will be no way for the battles to continue. Be exalted in that nation, we ask in the name of Jesus our Prince of Peace, amen.

  8. 729
    Lily Bright Says:

    Dear Lord
May your spirit reign today in Baghdad.
Lord, I pray for a new day,
Lord, a day of healing of that city.
A day for deliverance of the people oppressed.
A day of salvation for the people.
A day of miracles in the land.
    In Jesus name,
    Amen

  9. 728
    Donna Says:

Shine Your light and let those living in Baghdad see the truth. Let them turn from their wicked ways and walk in Your ways, Heavenly Father. Bring to them the truth in ways that they cannot dismiss it or ignore it. Let them see Jesus as He really is and let them come to adore and honor Him as Your only begotten Son. Thank You, LORD, in Jesus’ name. Amen

Dear Lord, thank you for all “the work of Your Hands” Isa 19, which was done by our US SOldiers in Iraq. The US Soldiers were doing “Your Work” and it will be rewarded back unto them also by Your Hand. May our US Soldiers that lived, fought and died there be in God’s “Book of Remembrance” and You, Jesus, will say unto them on “That Day”, Judgment Day, “Well done my good and faithful servant, enter into My Father’s House.” And we in America say to you also: Well Done, my fellow countrymen, and . welcome Home to America. We want you back. Thank you Jesus bring them all home. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

Teach them Your ways and may they walk wisely in Your great truth! May they continually praise Your faithful name, Lord Jesus and may You go before to prepare the way for others to come to You. Be with the police and troops there and protect them as they open their hearts to You. Help them to lean upon You for wisdom and guidance. May they love You and serve all the days of their lives. certainly like your web site but you need to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling issues and I in finding it very bothersome to tell the reality then again I will certainly come again again.

  15. 722
    Mary T. Says:

Dear Lord: Thank you for bringing our US SOldiers HOME! And for the Holidays too. What a wonderful God you are. Thank you for the interactions between the two cultures and the comeraderie that did happen in areas of sports and boxing and gardening and gymnastics. May the imprint of the good things never be forgotten but may the Christianity they saw in our US Soldiers bring them to a saving KNowledge of their Savior who is Jesus Christ. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

  16. 721
    Karola Says:

Father, I pray that You may protect all who stand up and fight for freedom and peace in Baghdad. Lord, please protect those who stand up for innocent lives and put themselves at risk by doing so. I also pray for the safety of our returning Troops and that they may have a transition guided and guarded by You, Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray all of this, Amen.

    Becky Says:

Shine down Your Glory into the hearts, minds and city streets.
May Your Presence be seen, heard and felt by all, the unbelievers as well as the believers.

  18. 719
    Donna Says:

LORD, break the power of idols. Come and rule as King. Over Baghdad, rule as King. Usher in Your kingdom, LORD, let it be in Baghdad just as it is in heaven. Use Your ministering angels and Your Mighty Holy Spirit to change hearts and lives and bring glory to You, Father! Amen

  19. 718
    Betsy P. Says:

Father, You alone know what You have in mind for the nation of Iraq, the city of Baghdad, and Shula province. But we know that Your Word declares that You would have no man to perish, but all to come to a knowledge of the Truth of salvation in Jesus Christ. Father, we ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Holy Spirit on all of Iraq, causing men, women, and children in all walks of life, including our soldiers, to bow to Your sovereignty and live lives of integrity before You. May they, each and every one, know the God of love and compassion, and extend that love and compassion to their neighbors, in the name of Jesus, our Savior and the lover of our souls, amen.

  20. 717
    luann beasley Says:

Jesus, I praise You for Your holiness and fairness! Lord of light and truth, please bring Your glorious mercy and love to the people of Baghdad that need You so much! Lord, You know the evil that resides there. Help the people to work together for unity and righteousness. Lord, I thank You for hearing my prayer and I exalt Your great name! Amen.

  21. 716
    Donna Says:

God Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, Father of all, thank You for loving and caring for us even though we don’t know You. Thank You that You have plans to prosper Baghdad even though the city doesn’t recognize You as God. I ask that You work in the lives of the elders of the city today. Open the eyes of their hearts to know You and serve You. Speak to them in dreams and visions. Speak to their hearts. Show them Your wonders. And give them the truth and an opportunity to acknowledge and accept it. Thank You for bringing glory to Yourself and including us in Your plan of salvation for everyone on earth! Amen

  22. 715
    Lily Bright Says:

    Dear Lord and Savior
I am in agreements with other intercessors for a new and Glorious Day for Baghdad people.
Lord, may this day be filled with the true knowledge of who You are.
Lord, I ask that You reveal Yourself to this ungodly nation!
Let not one person living in Iraq, be without the knowledge of who You are!
Lord, let not one person die this day, without receiving You as Lord and Master in their life.
I pray in JESUS name, Your only Begotten Son.
    Amen and amen.
I thank You Lord, that You are the Lord of my life.
    I pray in JESUS name,
    Amen

  23. 714
    nanci Says:

Dear Heavenly Father; May you look upon Baghdad today and bless this City. Give them hope and show them how much you care by keeping everyone peaceful today. Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. Save the peacekeepers Lord, give them strength to carry out their duties. Listen to their prayers and guide them to safety. In your precious name we ask it. Amen.

  24. 713
    Betsy P. Says:

Father, may the words of David in Psalm 35 be applied to the people of Baghdad, Adhamiya and all of Iraq: “Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me! Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help! Draw out also the spear and javelin and close up the way of those who pursue me persecute me. Say to me, I am your deliverance!” vs. 1-3.
We put our trust in You, Father, for in You alone is our hope and the hope for the people of Iraq, including out soldiers who are there. “…let [my foes]not rejoice over me! Let them not say in their hearts, Aha, that is what we wanted!Let them not say, We have swallowed him up and utterly destroyed him.”

But may You and You alone be magnified and exalted over every person and every situation in Iraq. Take up Your power and reign there, Lord, we ask in the name of Jesus, the Captain of the Heavenly army, amen.

  25. 712
    Sabrina Says:

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, let this be a new day for the people of Baghdad. Amen
