5-A New Day For Baghdad

Scripture: “All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to Your name.” -Psalm 86:9

Prayer: Lord, we declare that the earth is the Yours and the fullness thereof. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the great creator, and in You we live and move and have our being.

baghdad_god_speaks.jpgFather, we ask for Your blessings to come down upon the city of Baghdad. We proclaim that this piece of geography would come under the sway of its Creator and that Baghdad would become a place of peace, and even a refuge of peace in the days to come. Father of mercy, release Your healing, and begin to realign this city with Your original destiny.

We agree that Your kingdom would come and Your will to be done in Baghdad. We ask that You would stop the people who want to cause further damage in this region, and raise up peacemakers: men and women of wisdom who can usher Baghdad forward into a season of fruitfulness and health. Nothing is too difficult for You dear Lord, and so today we ask for Your intervention and Your original intentions for this city to be secured. In Jesus name and for His name’s sake we ask this. Amen.

Lord, I ask thay you send warring angels to do battle with the evil spirits that are against the innocent men, woman and children who are desiring peace in their homes. Heavenly Father,

You are the giver of good gifts and I am thankful for the life of Wayne Dillard and what he has meant to the people of Baghdad both the citizens and the troops who serve there. Thank You that he was a good husband and father and that he taught so many of us to become better at praying for the troops and for our neighbors in distant lands. Today we again lift up Baghdad for Your special blessing. I pray that the Christians there who are aware of what Wayne Dillard has done to promote prayer for the people and land of Iraq will remember him with a special tribute. O Lord, he will be so greatly missed by all of us whose lives he touched. Please may there be a calming of the forces of evil in Baghdad and may the troops go forward with plans to be safely leaving the country. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen

Father, Wayne prayed that “You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the creator, and in You we live and move and have our being.” This becomes so pertinent today as we honor Wayne’s life, and acknowledge his death in Jesus Christ. For Wayne, to live was Christ and to die is gain. We thank you for all of the prayers he sowed into Baghdad and all of Iraq and into the lives of the military and the civilians. He has a part in the new beginnings that the people of Baghdad are experiencing. We thank You for the example that he gave us. We thank You for his family, Kathleen, Julia, and Jessica, and all the others we do not know. Please enfold them in Your love and comfort. Thank You that Your Comforter is with them, and that You have sent and are sending more comforters.
Please bless our troops and the people of Baghdad, especially the section of Dawrah, today, as we worship You and exalt You as the Resurrection and the Life, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords both now and forever, amen.

Bless the city of Baghdad and Wayne’s family who has poured themselves out in prayer for so many of your lost children. Praise and Glory to you, our Redeemer and Lord, Jesus Christ!

Dear Father in Heaven, I pray for a good outcome of this Sunday’s elections in Iraq, despite the efforts of violent individuals to manipulate the outcome by driving Christians away from their homes in Mosul. I pray that You will show Your strong hand and overwhelmingly put to silence those who have endeavored to impose their will on others by means of violence and murder. May Your people in Iraq, who are called by Your Name be in prayer and give You the honor You are due, and may they be able to look up and see Your help and Your salvation draw near to them. In Jesus’ Holy and True Name. Amen.

  22. 590
    Janice Says:

    Heavenly Father,

Our hope rests upon You and Your abilities and strength to make a new day in Baghdad and all of Iraq. We ask for peace and calm and for an end to the violence that so readily rises up against the citizens. Please help those who are grieving the loss of life in the land to senseless violence. Give them comfort. May they learn of Your peace that passes all understanding and may they have reason to believe their loved ones did not die in vain. I pray for Your wisdom to intersect with the minds of leadership who are responsible for making crucial decisions to install further safeguards in the land. Help them to know exactly what needs to be done to stop the violence so the people can have the freedom they are suppose to know given all the sacrifices that have been made on their behalf by other governments and soldiers who have died so that they might have a better way of life. Please Abba, bless them today. Keep all the troops out of harms way this day and evening. I pray in the blessed name of Jesus, Amen

    M. Thompson Says:

Dear Lord: We pray today for a wonderful thing: we earnestly implore you, we beg you Dear Lord, that You knit together the people of Iraq, in strong bonds of friendship and trust, with our US Soldiers. If You do this then a season of fruitfulness and building projects and Spring gardens and lasting relationships across cultureal lines will spring forth and the healing of the Nation of Iraq will have begun. Lord, I ask for souls for your Kingdom. I wish I could remember the saint of old that cried, “Lord, give me souls or I die!” But Lord, You are the Lover and Bishop and Shepard of ALL souls.” Please ferret out those who You have fallen in love with in Iraq, on both sides of the war, draw them to You with chords of love and bind them to You forever. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

  25. 587
    Betsy P. Says:

“Baghdad, O Baghdad, come forth to the glorious future that Father has for you. Cast off your grave clothes, and begin your rejoicing. There is a time of war and a time of peace. This is your time to rejoice after mourning.”

Dear Lord Father God, we ask for it to be so, as the citizens of Baghdad elect a new slate of leaders for the city. As leaders step down and new ones emerge, may Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in Baghdad, including the section called Mansur. May all those going to vote be sheltered under Your wings of protection. May all those who would harm others be pushed back and away. May the people hear You say, “Peace, be still! Be still and know that I am God!” In Jesus name I ask, for He is our Prince of Peace, amen.
