Thu- Hold the Peace
(Hold the Peace is a daily campaign of prayer through July 2009, to resist the current surge of violence in Baghdad. Please join us.)
Tame the Troublemakers
Scripture: And it will come about after this, That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions. -Joel 2:28
Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are worthy of all glory and honor and praise. There is no other God besides You, and one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that You alone are God.
Lord, I bring to Your attention, the main troublemakers in Baghdad, and You know who they are. I want to target one of them in prayer right now, and ask that tonight and every night this week You would disturb his sleep with dreams and visions he cannot forget.
Speak to his heart and convict him of the wrong he has been doing. Break down the hardness that violence has forged in his heart, and give him a fresh new outlook.
Give him no rest Lord, until he turns from his wickedness, and accepts a better way. Birth a new hope in his heart and give him the grace to let go of the past and lay down his violent ways. Tame the troublemaker Lord, and make him a man of peace. Then use him to further Your cause in Baghdad. In Jesus name, amen.

Lord God Almighty, you are able to deliver your people from the hand of the wicked (Ps. 71:4) and so we ask you to protect the believers in Iraq. Confuse and put to shame those who intend to hurt Your People (Ps. 71:24). Let Your people rejoice in You and tell others of Your righteous acts. Send Your Spirit to convict those who are causing trouble of their sin and the judgement they are due (John 16:8-10) and grant them repentance. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Dear Father, Tonight I pray Psalm 71 on behalf of the Christians in the Middle East, and for the troublemakers in Wayne’s prayer above. Lord, please answer quickly.
In Jesus’ Name. AMEN.

Dear Father, We don’t grow weary of praying the same prayers, because you said to ask and keep on asking. So we ask again and again that you will bring your peace to Baghdad and all the Middle East. We know you will ultimately do that, Lord, and we look ceaselessly for that day. Please draw the misguided, brainwashed, ignorant ones to the truth of Jesus Christ. More truth, Lord, is the greatest hope for peace. Only Jesus can end the tryanny of islam. Do it, Lord. We ask in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

Dear Father, Your word says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” So we give you thanks. And it’s not just a generic “thanks,” but a specific thank you for being in total control of everything. We need your perspective, Father, because things don’t seem to be getting better in the natural. You are the sovereign Lord, and nothing happens that you don’t permit or that surprises you, or that can defeat you. Thank you, Lord. Thank you for your protection over our troops, and for our local National Guardsmen who are going to be coming home earlier than expected. Thank you that you are protecting the Christians in Iraq and in throughout the Middle East. Thank you, Lord, for Jesus. Please glorify your holy name, as we pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN.

Dear Father, Thank you for Wayne’s prayer, and for all the prayers on this page. None are wasted, none go unanswered in your Kingdom. So even though we have not heard of any troublemakers recently coming to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, that doesn’t mean you haven’t acted. Bless those you have saved with courage to speak your word boldly. Give them strength, protection, and favor, and let many receive the truth of Christ because of their testimony. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says, “we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.” We believe you, Father. And we praise you and thank you in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

Dear Father, You are Lord of all. You are Lord over Iraq. We declare your sovereignty, and we affirm the finished work of Jesus at Calvary. Nothing can stand against your perfect plan, and your perfect timing. You have appointed our troops for such a time as this, and you will see to it that they accomplish your purposes. So we ask that you give us the privilege of seeing your plan come to pass, particularly with respect to these terrorists who continue to rear their heads in Baghdad and throughout the Middle East. Render them powerless, and open their eyes to the truth of Jesus. Deliver them from the possession of the demonic forces of islam, and use them against their own terrorist leaders. Cause great confusion in their camps and prevent them from doing any more damage. Come and glorify your holy name, Father. We ask in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
April 14th, 2010 at 6:59 pm
Dear Father, Please answer the prayers on this page. The troublemakers are still around, still inciting violence, still disturbing the peace, still following demonic orders. You, Lord, are still King of kings and Sovereign ruler of the universe. And you’re concerned with every single human being on this planet. So you trump all demonic powers, all of which were defeated at Calvary. Thank you that you are going to show your victorious right arm of power soon, in Baghdad and all of the Middle East, in our time. We praise you that you will turn what the enemy has meant for evil into good for your church, and for all those innocent ones who need to know Jesus. Please do it now, Lord. We ask in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

Father, we also pray that those who are unhappy with the results of the election would not resort to violence to achieve their goals. Help them accept these results and to devote their effort to making their country a better place to live. Our desire is that you will bring them to the point of placing their faith in our Lord Jesus. In His name we pray. Amen.

Dear Father, Thank you for the wonderful report from Wayne about the election results. Bless Mr. Allawi, and let this be a real turning point for freedom and truth in Iraq. Please let this be an open door for the church of Jesus to rise up and preach the gospel, with signs and wonders following. Glorify the name of Jesus, Father. We give you all the praise and honor and glory, in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

Dear Father, It’s almost time to remember and celebrate the victory of Jesus over death, hell, and the grave. He died and rose again, defeating the forces of evil in the spirit world, and he gave us the authority to defeat evil here. So we ask in the name of Jesus that this victory would be realized here, in the land of the living, in Baghdad, in all of Iraq, in Afghanistan, and in the United States. We pray that the forces of islam would be brought down, and we declare the defeat of satan and all his minions. We declare freedom to all those enslaved in islamic countries, and we declare the truth that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. The Blood of Jesus cleanses us and saves us. Please open the eyes of the Iraqi people to see and understand this truth, and come to Jesus and be saved. We glorify your name, Lord! AMEN.
March 17th, 2010 at 7:16 pm
Father, I reiterate the prayer from Mary last week. Please guide the Iraqi forces and cause them to have a special love and pride in their nation which manifests itself in truth and integrity. May they use all they’ve learned from our troops for the good of the nation. Keep them from corruption and evil influences, as well as bribery or threats. Use them to advance the kingdom of Jesus Christ as peace comes to the nation. Let your Kingdom come, Lord, and bring down the evil demonic control of islam over these people. Turn the evildoers to you, Lord. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.
March 11th, 2010 at 9:19 am
Lord, thank-You for what You have done and are doing for Iraq. Thank-You for Your purposes for Iraq (and Baghdad in particular).
You have Your plans for the nation, for each town, village within it. Lord, may all of Your purposes come to pass, in Your timing! May You boost and strengthen security, intelligence, and police and military forces of Iraq. May You cleanse them of evil infiltraters and spies. May they have no tolerance for those sent from other nations to stir up trouble and cause violence. May they be discerning of where such people come into the country, and may they use whatever necessary to stop up and reinforce the weak areas where these troublemakers are getting into the country. May these Iraqi forces have mercy on civilians, and protect, as is their duty, civilians. Let them not use their power for ungodly, unethical gain, but desire to do a great job, taking pride in their work. May all the good that our forces and nation have accomplished in Iraq not be lost, but instead be built upon!! And multiplied! May integrity and fairness(and skills) exemplified by our forces be learned and continued by Iraqi forces,and let the citizens of Iraq take pride in their nation and desire to protect it, in Jesus’ name! Thank-You, Lord!!
March 10th, 2010 at 8:00 pm
Father, There’s no particular news today about Iraq. That must mean good things are happening there, because news people only report the evil. So we thank you for what you’re doing in Baghdad and in that entire nation. Remove all the troublemakers, and replace them with born-again believers in Jesus Christ who can bring the light of truth to these people who have been enslaved by islam. Come and glorify your name, Lord. Bring your peace and your tranquility to this ravaged nation. I ask in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
March 3rd, 2010 at 7:59 pm
Dear Father, As the Iraqi elections are coming up, please send angels to expose the troublemakers. People say more IED’s are being set up and the enemy is trying to prevent peaceful voting and the election of men of integrity. Please intervene in these enemy plots, Lord. Don’t allow any of these bombs to go off; don’t let any people blow themselves up and injure or kill innocent ones. Please let your kingdom come and your will be done in Baghdad and this entire nation. Show yourself strong, Lord, and make a way for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be preached freely and loudly, so all will have an opportunity to hear the truth. I ask in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
February 25th, 2010 at 8:57 am
Dear Father, Another week, but we continue to pray, because you are in control no matter what. Please deal with these terrorists. We thank you for the victories in Afghanistan, but we know the enemy isn’t finished yet. You are the one to complete the job that Jesus already died for. We trust you to protect our soldiers and the innocent people, and to expose the evil ones so they can be stopped. Please let your truth be available and obvious to those who have been trapped in islam. Save these people, Father, and bring peace to the entire Middle East. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. AMEN.

Father God I want to agree with Mary Ann’s prayer. You are the Lord of all. Jesus defeated the powers of darkness at the cross and we stand in that victory. Send forth your light and your truth and redeem people in these lands. Bring glory to your name. Amen
February 17th, 2010 at 7:55 pm
Dear Father, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. You transcend time, and you control everything. There is nothing that happens that catches you by surprise, and nothing even exists without your express permission. So we know you have a big, big plan far beyond our comprehension, and you have reasons why you permit troublemakers to carry out their evil plots. And it’s even possible you’ve permitted them to continue so we will pray even more. And we do pray, Father. Please stop this evil. Break the chains of demonic control over these men who perpetrate violence and wickedness. Bring them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and bring down the idolatry of islam. Please glorify your name through your church in Iraq and Iran and Afghanistan. Please intervene now. We ask in the name of Jesus, and we thank you in advance and give you all the praise and glory. AMEN.

Dear Father, We stand with the high praises of God in our mouths and a two-edged sword in our hands, according to Psalm 149: Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand,
7 To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples;
8 To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute on them the written judgment–This honor have all His saints. Praise the LORD!
We are your saints, Lord, and we declare that these evildoers will stop, they will no longer cause trouble in Baghdad or anywhere in the Middle East. We speak particularly to the troublemakers in Iran who are fomenting the terrorism in Iraq and around the world: The judgment of God has already been written. The Lord God holds you in derision. He will show you that you are but men. Father, we look forward to seeing you glorify your name as you execute your judgments and put down those who rebel against you. Thank you for the honor of watching you and interceding in cooperation with your Holy Spirit. We give you the praise in the name of Jesus. AMEN.

Lord God, let violence, revenge, hatred, rivalries, and murder not prevail in Baghdad and throughout Iraq! Let man’s agendas not prevail, but please set up Your order in Baghdad and all of Iraq. Let rival groups long for peace and truth, and by Your mercy and grace, please enable them to come together for the sake of peace and give up their rivalries and need for vengeance. Let them see, open their eyes to the futility of teh cycles of violence that they have seen, and let them desire change and order. Set up Your order, and may the Light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ spread and flourish within Iraq, in Jesus’ name!!!

Psalms 31
For the choir director: A psalm of David.
1 O LORD, I have come to you for protection;
don’t let me be disgraced.
Save me, for you do what is right.
2 Turn your ear to listen to me;
rescue me quickly.
Be my rock of protection,
a fortress where I will be safe.
3 You are my rock and my fortress.
For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger.
4 Pull me from the trap my enemies set for me,
for I find protection in you alone.
5 I entrust my spirit into your hand.
Rescue me, LORD, for you are a faithful God.
6 I hate those who worship worthless idols.
I trust in the LORD.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in your unfailing love,
for you have seen my troubles,
and you care about the anguish of my soul.
8 You have not handed me over to my enemies
but have set me in a safe place.
I pray this salm over Bagdag AMEN

Dear Father, please answer this prayer just as it’s written. Let your kingdom come and your will be done today in the life of this troublemaker. Give him a “Saul of Tarsus” experience and use him to advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. I ask in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

Father,
Thank you for the Blessings you have already poured out over Baghdad and Iraq. I thank you for bringing Your Will to this region. May the Angels and Heavenly Host sing praises for the souls being won in Baghdad, Iraq and Afghanistan. Strengthen Your people and confuse and confound the enemies of peace and justice in this area of Your World. May Your Will be done in this area of the world and in our hearts.
Father, where we fail You please grant us awareness and a contrite spirit and the willingness to do what is right. Strengthen us to be faithful and persistent and to no grow weary in well-doing. Bring a harvest of souls for Your Glory from around the globe!
AMEN

Father, You are able to turn this situation around for good. I have faith to belive all things are possible with you. You are a mighty GOD. I am asking for a turn around of hard and evil hearts. Break those evil patterns and plant your love in their hearts to seek after you. Lord we are powerless to change such men, but with you all things are possible. Replace revenge with eagerness and a desire to be generous and compassionate with great love for their fellow man. So many evil ones mixed in with innocent ones, but YOU, GOD know all men’s hearts. Turn them toward home and to YOU the only one true GOD forever and ever. Lord, fight this battle. We raise your banner high. AMEN
November 11th, 2009 at 8:23 pm
Father, I just totally agree with that prayer! Please answer today, Lord. Turn this troublemaker to you and make him a great thorn in the enemy’s side as he commits his life to Jesus and works to advance your kingdom. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.

LORD and Father of all mankind. Thank you for loving me. O Lord, gracious Lord, Father, Jesus said: ‘the Father so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” How sweet are those words to my ears!
Abba, bring those very words to the ears of that man you are targeting through these prayers. We stand in the gap and ask for his sins to be forgiven him. We call him ‘Peacemaker’ we call those things that are not as though they were. We thank you for the changed lives of those around him as we pray. Glorify your name O Lord, Only you are able to do the impossible. Amen
