6-Protect the Innocent Civilians

Scripture: “Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.” -Psalm 82:4

Prayer: Lord, Your name is high above every name that has ever been named. You are exalted high above every created thing, and You rule the universe from Your throne on High.

baghdad_children.jpgYou are a Father to the fatherless, and You watch over the poor and needy. Lord, we ask that You would hear the cries of the people of Baghdad and deliver them from the hand of the wicked. Protect them during this time of uncertainty and rebuilding.

Surround them with Your favor as a shield and keep them safe. Give our troops great compassion and vigilance to keep the families of Baghdad from harm.

Lord, Your heart is near to the widow and the orphan; hear the cries of the oppressed and come to their aid. Break the yoke of violence that rules in that city, and set the people free from fear. Judge the wicked for oppressing the innocent, and deliver the weak out of their hands. In Jesus name, Amen.

Father, protect the children, mothers and fathers of Baghdad from all danger and all harm, giving them safe passage wherever they go. Put your loving arms around them and let them know that they are your children and you will take care of them. Give them peace dear Father in Heaven. I also ask for your protection of our soldiers, keep them out of harms way Lord and bring them safely back home when it is time, in your time Lord, not ours. In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen

    Alecia Turner Says:

Most Holy and Wise God Ruler of Every Nation,

As we look upon the picture of your children, bless then all and put your name upon them. At a young age let them learn of you and your saying, that it will be well with them and their children. Lord you said suffer the little children and forbid them not to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Lord bless the orphans, the fatherless, the mothers that are widows, let no harm come upon them. Lord let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. Lord you said you would preserve the strangers, that you would relieve the fatherless and widow: but that the way of the wicked you would turn upside down.

Lord as for the leaders of Iraq, Baghdad, their troops, allies, police and any citizen. Lord thou art of purer eyes and can behold evil in a mans heart. Lord look upon them that deal treacherously. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from them. Help them not be brawlers, but gentle, showing meekness unto all men. Let them not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good. Lord let them seek peace, and ensue it.

Lord we pray this pray will be establishd in heaven and on earth, in Jesus name, Amen

    Jon Henry Says:

One of the most heart breaking things about groups or nations warring against one another, is the loss of innocent life. The strategists and advisers have even given it a benign sounding name of “collateral damage”, as though that makes it less significant. The price of freedom is not free, but just who is paying that price? All too often, it’s the innocents living in the theatre of operation. They have no choice and in many cases, no place to go to get away from the carnage. Our brave men and women are sometimes forced to make life altering decisions in the heat of battle. Many of those decisions have residual effects that cannot be foreseen. All of them suffer with the horrific memories of the consequences of having to choose the lesser of evils. I pray God will be merciful to both the victims and those forced to make the decisions.

Almighty God of all heaven and earth, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Ruler of the universe, blessed be Your holy name. I give You all praise and glory for the precious gift of this day and the bounty of blessings You fill it with for all Your loved ones, both seen and unseen, in heaven and on earth. I come to You Lord in faith and believing in Your infinite power and wisdom and Your limitless grace, mercy and loving kindness, to lift up to You and Your Son Jesus, all the innocents of the war zones around the world , but especially in Iraq. Father, they have little or no choice and in many cases no place to flee the carnage and destruction of the agents of the enemy. The devil pounces on these helpless loved ones without mercy and without warning, like a lion, to devour and maim their lives and their flesh. I ask You to receive all the souls of the departed innocents unto Yourself and into Your presence. Give them special dispensations of comfort in Your heavenly places. Reach out to all those who become wounded in this struggle against oppression and the evil that permeates the very air of the world, and send them blessings of provision and services, so they can have all they need to heal as best as they can until the time of Your return when You have promised to restore us all with perfect heavenly bodies. Send down from heaven Your heavenly hosts of angels to minister to the survivors and their families. Build a hedge of protection around them that will deflect the attacks of the enemy as only You can do. I know in Your Word, my Lord Jesus tells us that the angels of the children are always before the face of the Father in heaven, and I beg for Your immediate and complete intervention on behalf of these loved ones. Holy spirit, give utterance to God’s ear of the things I don’t know to ask for. Make petition for these innocents and let my Lord Jesus, who is our High Priest in heaven, take that petition before the throne of God on their behalf. I claim the promise and victory of my Lord Jesus over all that I’ve asked, for He has conquered all the things of this world, and I pray these things in His precious holy name. amen and amen

    Patty Clements Says:

Lord today I ask that you touch the hearts of leaders in Iraq.I ask that you raise up people of faith for their countrys sake.I ask that you call them one by one to your heart. May the witness of one of your own touch them today and as one heart is changed that it roll like your rivers across Iraq and all around the Middle East. I pray for the sweeping wind of your spirit to be carried on desert sands and as it touches faces and bodies they would be filled with your love. Holy Spirit come,we invite you today and everyday.

Father God, I praise Your Holy Name. I ask today, Father, that You will place a wall of protection around the innocent people of Baghdad. They have suffered so much. Be with the widows and orphans as they go day to day and try to survive. Be with the troops and help them to remember to “treat others as they would like to be treated”. In Jesus’ Precious and Holy Name I pray. Amen

    Janice from Georgia Says:

    Heavenly Father,

When I see the picture of the children in Iraq that is with today’s prayer I am reminded of how much they have suffered from all the violence that has occurred in the land. I pray You would put a cover of protection over them and their families and all the innocent civilians in Iraq. We can call out on their behalf, “It’s not fair!” The innocents should not have to suffer so. They should not have to live in dread of the next suicide bomber. They should not have to worry if their neighbor is in cahoots with the enemy. I pray You would quickly make a peaceful haven in Iraq. One that defies explanation except that Your hand is upon it. Please, Lord, I ask this for the sake of the children, Your children, through Jesus, Amen.

  9. 204
    Sharon Says:

Heavenly Father, we exalt you and praise you today. We give all honor and glory to the Lamb who was slain for the sins of the world. We ask “how long” will the innocent suffer? How long will evil win? We cry out to you for protection over the lives of our soldiers and the innocent people of Iraq. There is no other one like you Lord, all the gods of the nations are idols. They can’t see, they can’t hear they can’t speak, they can’t command the hosts of heaven. Only you, Lord, can end this war and bring peace and we ask it in the name of Jesus today.

    Sabrina Says:

I cannot help but think when I look at the children in the picture that they are Yours and that they need to know You. Father do not let them grow up knowing the hate against each other and against other men – please send someone to teach them love for one another
Lord protect them and keep them safe

    Joan Bowe Says:

Heavenly Father, we praise You this day and give thanks to You for You alone are worthy, You alone are Most High. Blessed be Your name now and forever more. Hallelujah! Holy One, please look upon the Iraqi people with mercy and grace, opening their eyes to see Your Truth and goodness. Help these dear people in Baghdad and all of Iraq to be protected and to be able to build up their land that they might bring up their children without fear of violence breaking out continually around them. Lord, a land can be rebuilt and established for a time but if You are not in the picture it will not last long. Oh, Lord, reveal Yourself to them that they might have everlasting peace and joy! Teach them how to rebuild, one step at a time and help them to see Your faithfulness coming through those who acknowledge You as Lord and Savior. Let them not rebuild with straw or stubble but rather let them build with stone and let them establish themselves upon the Rock that cannot be moved. Bring them peace, oh God, peace everlasting, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

    Dear Father of Glory:
We are so thankful for Your giving us so many victories in the unseen battles on Iraqi soil and in Iraqi souls. We know that this war cannot be won and souls drawn to You except You fight with and for us.
We are able to fail You, but You cannot fail us. As You walk through the battle lines with our troops, be it in the streets or cities, let our troops be found worthy of your mighty deliverances and miracles. You are ABLE to save to the uttermost.
You are Faithful and True and will show Yourself strong on our Soldiers behalf if we but ask. So we are asking for protection and special tenderloving care of each soldier and each widow and child of Iraq. We know this is Your Heart and it is also ours.
Please Dear Lord, provide, protect, deliver and save our servicemen. They look only to You for You are their only HOPE. PLEASE! Keep their hope alive. Keep them alive too. THANK YOU, we fall on our knees in gratitude!
Thank you also for delivering Jessica and her crewmates for no place is beyond Your control.
I seem to hear the mighty clanking of dry bones, coming together with sinews and muscles, getting ready to rise up and be a strong sanctified Army, The Body of Christ. And Hallelujia for that! Amen.

Ps 9:18 For the needy will not be forgotten forever; the hopes of the poor will not always be crushed. Ps 10:12 Arise, O LORD! Punish the wicked, O God! Do not forget the helpless! 14b the helpless put their trust in you. You are the defender of orphans. 17. Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will listen to their cries and comfort them. 18. You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed; so people can no longer terrify them.

Lord, You are the most precious one in the whole world. Your love is beyond all love for your love is unconditional, and our love comes with conditions. LORD SHOW FORTH YOUR LOVE TO THE CHILDREN, AND THE NEEDY that is caught up in this war of “good vs evil”. You who hast created us, knows all our needs, but waits for us to ask for your help. Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit I ask now that your protective hedge be upon all the needy and the children. The children is the NEXT GENERATION TO BUILD UP YOUR KINGDOM, and I ask in the name of Jesus to give them visions and dreams of your love and kingdom. Help them Holy Spirit to understand the Word of God, and impart it in their hearts and mind. Let them know of Jer. 29:11 and how you will use them to fulfill all the plans of their destiny. Father, I SPEAK FORTH THAT IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN WILL BECOME A BEACON ON TOP OF A MOUNTAIN SHOWING FORTH YOUR GLORY AND LOVE TO THE NATIONS. THESE TERRITORIES WILL BE YOURS AND THE PEOPLE WILL BE YOUR SERVANTS TELLING THE GOSPEL OF GOD.

Father, be with our men and women there in Iraq and Afghanistan helping the people over there fight for freedom. Give them your blessings and freedom like only you can give in the inner parts, which contains the spirit and soul. Let them have dreams and visions like you tell us in Joel 2:28, and anoint them with your gifts and power. Protect their families and meet each and every need they have in this year of 2008 like they never dreamed of, known or seen. Pour your love over them and their angels protect them in accordance to Psalm 91. Lord I offer this pray up to you and in faith know down deep in the my heart you heard and will answer. In the name of Jesus. Amen
