6-Protect the Innocent Civilians

Scripture: “Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.” -Psalm 82:4

Prayer: Lord, Your name is high above every name that has ever been named. You are exalted high above every created thing, and You rule the universe from Your throne on High.

baghdad_children.jpgYou are a Father to the fatherless, and You watch over the poor and needy. Lord, we ask that You would hear the cries of the people of Baghdad and deliver them from the hand of the wicked. Protect them during this time of uncertainty and rebuilding.

Surround them with Your favor as a shield and keep them safe. Give our troops great compassion and vigilance to keep the families of Baghdad from harm.

Lord, Your heart is near to the widow and the orphan; hear the cries of the oppressed and come to their aid. Break the yoke of violence that rules in that city, and set the people free from fear. Judge the wicked for oppressing the innocent, and deliver the weak out of their hands. In Jesus name, Amen.

Father, we thank You that You are in charge and You are delivering and setting the captive free. Free to worship You, free to choose truth. We say pour out Your Spirit upon the people of Baghdad. We say visit them in the night season, show Yourself strong on their behalf. We pray that hedge of protection about the people of Baghdad and over our troops that are there. We declare Psalm 91 over them; that no evil will befall them and no plaque or calamity will come near their dwelling because You give Your angels charge to watch over and keep them in all their ways. We thank You Father for not only watching over the troops in Iraq but watching over their family members at home. Be with each one of them and meet them at their point of need. Father we thank You for all that You are doing in Iraq. We say Yes and Amen to You, to Your Will. In Jesus Name!

Father, May Daniels, Davids, Elijahs, Samuels and Peters arise from the children so hard pressed. Let the voice of the Lord rise up within them. Make Your voice heard for out of the mouths of babes You have ordained praise. Their voices will silence the enemy. Astound the wise with the simplicitic faith of a child. Rush to their defence oh God. We declare them to be mighty in You. Amen!

    Dave Halloran Says:

This taken from Max Lucado’s report while living in Rio, a difficult city to navigate. “I had one salvation. Jesus. Literally, Jesus. The Christ the Redeemer statue. The figure stands guard over the city, one hundred twenty-five feet tall with an arm span of nearly a hundred feet. More than a thousand tons of reinforced steel. The head alone measures ten feet from chin to scalp. Perched a mile and a half above sea level on Corcovado Mountain, the elevated Jesus is always visible. Especially to those who are looking for it. Since I was often lost, I was often looking. As a sailor seeks land, I searched for the statue, peering between the phone lines and rooftops for the familiar face. Find him and find my bearings.
John 3:16 offers you an identical promise. The verse elevates Christ to thin-air loftiness, crowning him with the most regal of titles: “One and Only Son.” People of Baghdad, troops in Baghdad and Iraq, do what Max did in Rio. Seek him out. Lift up your eyes, and set your sights on Jesus. No passing glances or occasional glimpses. Enroll in his school. Make him your polestar, your point of reference. Search the crowded streets and shadow-casting roofs until you spot his face, in your heart, and then set your sights on him forever. You’ll find everything

You’ll find the Only One and Only, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Amen.

    Melodie Says:

Protect the innocent civilians is only half of the healing Christ prayer. In order to eliminate victims, victimizers must be eliminated as well. Jesus taught us to pray with our whole heart, not half of it. He said to pray for our enemies–pray for those who despitefully use you. He was teaching us how to pray intelligently. Lets do it. Lets help each other learn how to follow Jesus’ teaching to pray for those who are despitefully using their neighbors in Iraq. Lets draw a circle of love around the whole city, with evil on the outside. Our enemy is not a person, but the tendency of frail humans to let our thoughts slip into submitting to the temptation to side with evil. God leads us “not into temptation”. His almighty hand is leading all the people in Iraq.

  15. 73
    Dottie Says:

Lord you who love and care for us and died for us,we come to you asking you to help the people of Iraq to have peace in their land. We know that you intervened in many battles in the old testament and brought peace to many oppressed people. Our prayers of intersession here on this internet sight have only the welfare of the ones who are suffering during this conflict in mind. Work a mighty miracle we pray. Protect the troops and all who seek a peaceful end to the war. Open the eyes of the Sunni and Sheit and Curds as they work together to solve their internal problems. Give them your wisdom. We pray this in your Holy Name. Amen

    Carolyn-mother of a soldier Says:

Lord of Heaven and earth,I praise your wondorous and Holy Name, for you alone are worthy of all praise and honor. The angels cry Holy,Holy,Holy is the Lord God almighty. And I stand with the angels today crying Holy,Holy,Holy is the Lord God almighty. Psalms 10:12-18 “Arise,O Lord! Do not forget the humble. Why do the wicked renounce God? He has said in his heart,”You will not require an account.” Buty You have seen, for You observe trouble and grief, TO repay it with Your hand. The helpless commits himself to You; You are the helper of the fatherless. Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man: Seek out his wickedness until You find none. The Lord is King forever and ever. The nations have perished out of His land. Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear, to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, That the man of the earth may oppress no more. Hear the cries of the humble today Dearest Lord, and let the captives of Iraq go free. In Jesus Name I pray. AMEN!

Father God and Ruler of the universe, hear the pleas of the broken and hurting people of Bagdad, draw out the ones You have chosen from the foundation of the world and deliver them from the hands of evil. Dear Father in Heaven, I join in prayer for the safety and well being of the children and the needy citizens of Baghdad. Please be their shield and their strong tower. May they run to You and find safety. I pray also for any Christian aid workers You might have i strategic places for the purpose of helping such people. Be a shield of protection to them. Please hide them and their good works from the eyes of any who might desire to bring their work to nothing. Keep them safe from all harm and may their work go forward in Jesus’s Name and to Your glory. Thank You for hearing all our prayers, and for even laying it on our hearts to pray. May Your will be done in Baghdad today. Hallelujah!

in Jesus name I pray, raise up righteous, loving Fathers for the fatherless in Iraq. That you will do a new thing in Iraq, and holy righteousness shall rule and reign in this land in Jesus name. Let the children cry out to you and find you in Christ Jesus. Do miracles for the children, Father, when they cry out to you in Jesus name. Let the knowledge of Jesus flood this nation and bring light and life where there has been dryness, darkness and death. Let the weak say, “I am strong.” Let the poor say, “I am rich.” Let your love pour onto the Iraqi people and let your really holy Spirit blow upon their hearts and lives and transform a nation and let there be dancing, singing and deep joy in Jesus the Christ. AMEN.
