6-Protect the Innocent Civilians

Scripture: “Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.” -Psalm 82:4

Prayer: Lord, Your name is high above every name that has ever been named. You are exalted high above every created thing, and You rule the universe from Your throne on High.

baghdad_children.jpgYou are a Father to the fatherless, and You watch over the poor and needy. Lord, we ask that You would hear the cries of the people of Baghdad and deliver them from the hand of the wicked. Protect them during this time of uncertainty and rebuilding.

Surround them with Your favor as a shield and keep them safe. Give our troops great compassion and vigilance to keep the families of Baghdad from harm.

Lord, Your heart is near to the widow and the orphan; hear the cries of the oppressed and come to their aid. Break the yoke of violence that rules in that city, and set the people free from fear. Judge the wicked for oppressing the innocent, and deliver the weak out of their hands. In Jesus name, Amen.

    Janice from Georgia Says:

    Heavenly Father,

You are above all, Your are before all and You are after all. You are marvelous in Your ways, ever diligent and faithful, full of truth and the creator of all beauty. We recognize You and Your status in this world. That is why we offer prayers only to You. There is no other god who would be able to process our prayers and act upon them. Thank You for listening Lord. We bring before You this day all the needy and innocent civilians of Baghdad and Iraq that You would especially watch over them and provide for their needs in supernatural ways today. You are the God who provides. Every good and perfect gift comes from Your hand and I ask that You open Your hand and let the blessings flow upon the children in Iraq. May they all come to know You as their Father in Heaven. Help all the families to thrive. Nourish their physical beings and also their spiritual beings. Thank You, thank You for I trust that You are meeting those needs even as I am sending this prayer to You on their behalf. Time and distance is not a constraint to You and You know before I even ask what I will ask. You are so great Lord. I praise You and give You all the glory for the goodness in the world. Through Jesus, Amen

    M. Thompson Says:

    Dear Lord:
You are so wonderful to care about us Lord the way you do. Nobody loves us like Jesus does.

Lord, so many people who don’t know you think that you don’t have time for them because you are running a huge universe and world and they are so miniscule. I wish those people knew the truth.

You are God Almighty. You know when we sit and stand and rest. You dig in the chambers of our imaginations. You knit us in our mother’s womb and gave us assignments on earth. Before a word is formed in our mouth you know the whole of it. So says your word. Even time is a dimention that you created so we progressed thru this life onto eternity where time is no more and we could live with you outside of time for all eternity.

In fact the price of one person is so terribly high that Jesus had to die to pay for that person’s sins so they could enter heaven. So each person is incalculably valuable. Fort Knox couldn’t buy a tip of one’s little finger. That is why the devil hates us so…we are in the image of God who Satan wants to replace.

So, you DO care about the poor and needy. One lady who loved you so saw you in Heaven and asked if she could spend some time with you. She was granted that wish and where did she spend that time with you? In your weeping room. You sit in that weeping room and weep because you see every injustice, every cruelty, each act of violence and even the slightest hurt against each person on earth.

In fact, the shortest verse in the Bible confirms this, “Jesus wept.” Lord, I know you well enough by now that you do care for the weak and lonely and poor and scared and hungry and discouraged.

And I’m so relieved to hear that but I think that could describe our precious Soldiers in all the foriegn lands right now. Please minister to them in ways that only you and your love can do.
In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

    Dougie Macintire Says:

Gracious heavenly Father – We praise your name and thank you for answering our prayers! We see that the violence has decreased since we began praying, and we see how the Iraqis have stepped up to take charge of their own provinces – we especially thank you for the miracle in the Anbar province, once the stronghold of Al Quaeda. You alone are worthy of all glory and honor and praise!!!

Father, we know that the job is not finished, and that the battle still rages. We know that there are still evil men lying in wait to spill innocent blood. We know that satan and his demons have not given up the fight, and that we must continue to pray to achieve full victory. Help us not to grow complacent. Continue to prompt us with your spirit to pray for our troops and pray for the people of Iraq. Cause us to hear and obey!!

Father, we pray especially for the children. We know that your heart is for the widows and the orphans and the children who are yet innocent. We pray that they will have the opportunity to live in peace and freedom, and that they will have the opportunity to hear the truth and be set free. Father, I pray for a great awakening among the people of Iraq. I pray that the children will be set free from the deception that has blinded their parents. I pray that they will seek a loving God who has paid the penalty for their sins and welcomes them into His family as His children – rather than blindly following a false god who rules by fear and intimidation. Father, I pray for a great harvest of souls in the Middle East. I pray for the Christians in Iraq, that you will fill them with boldness and cast out all fear, that you will protect them from the evil one as they share their faith with their brothers and sisters. Continue to surround this nation and our soldiers with your angels. May the victory be won in the Name of the Lord!!!

In Jesus Name – Dougie Macintire

    June Says:

    Lord God,
When men and women offer themselves as living sacrifices to protect the innocent, some lose their lives and leave behind widows and orphans from the land they left in order to protect strangers and neighbors in a foreign land. Please do not forget the widows, widowers and orphans who have also lost their spouse or parent. Comfort those who mourn.

Pour out your Holy Spirit to quiet and still and convert the heart and minds of those who fight against your good will in ignorance. Help them to find a way out of the madness of false leaders and run to those who are filled with your Spirit of Truth and Wisdom.

    Speak Peace
    Speak Comfort
    Speak Grace

    AMEN

    Jan Says:

Lord, I pray that the finances to rebuild the city and the country would be released and that good and honest contractors and leaders would take the initiative to begin this task. As the money comes in from the oil profits, cause it to be released into the hands of those leaders who will use it wisely for the good of the country. Bind the spirits of avarice and greed.
In Jesus name I pray, amen.

Dear Father, as we live our happy and secure lives here in the U.S., let us not forget our fighting men and women who make this so. Let us not forget those others, people just like us who are suffering through no fault of their own. Their misfortune was to be born under evil and unscrupulous dictators. Father, come to their rescue and to the rescue of our military. Save us all from evil. We ask it in Jesus’ Name, Amen
