17-Protection for Fathers

Scripture: “Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from men of violence who plan to trip my feet.” -Psalm 140:4

Prayer: Father, You are the Lord of the impossible. You are the God that knows when we sit down and when we stand up. You know the number of hairs on our head, and nothing escapes Your notice.

muslimfamily.jpgWe come to You in Jesus name and ask for divine protection over the fathers and the households in Baghdad. Lord, we ask right now, that You would intervene on behalf of a father in Baghdad today and that instead of tragedy, there would be deliverance from death.

Father, release help from Your throne to keep the fathers safe so they can protect and provide for their families. Keep these dear people from the hands of the wicked, and protect them from the schemes of violence.

Lord we also lift up the soldiers who are fathers, and ask for a special protection and blessing over them today. Guard them Lord with Your divine protection. Surround them with Your favor like a shield. Guard their going out and their coming in, their rising up and their lying down. You alone are able, and we agree together for this in Jesus name. Amen!

    Heavenly Father,

You are most wonderful in all of Your caring ways and showing of love to Your children. No matter what our age, we adopted sons and daughters of Yours are Your children. We come, Abba, asking that You would take extra good care of the fathers in Baghdad and all of Iraq this day. May they know without a doubt that they are loved by their families and by You. Bless them today with some special symbol of Your love. May they grow in wisdom and understanding and in favor with You and people. Please may they be held safely under Your protection from any harm or evil plots. I pray also for the protection of all the troops who are serving in the land. Some are fathers and some are mothers or will be at some time in the future. Please keep them safe for the benefit of their families. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen

    Jean Says:

Dear Father in Heaven, You are so good to hear our prayers, to care for all our needs, and indeed to actually teach us how to pray. Thank You. Today may I pray especially for the families and households in the northern parts of Iraq where there is still a great deal of instability. Please give wisdom to the Iraqi and Kurdish governments to know how best to secure the safety of the people living under their care and to clear the land of terror. Please help the people living there, and those who took refuge in those areas because of earlier terror and threats in Iraq to find safety and a place where they can live and raise their families in peace. I pray that You would turn the intentions of the terrorist upside down, and may they no longer be a terror to anyone but themselves. Please keep Your people free from all the acts that are intended to intimidate or to drive them from the land by means of terror. In Jesus’ Precious and Holy Name. Amen.

    Faye Says:

Father God I praise Your Holy Name. I ask that You will give the fathers a safe haven. I so appreciated living in a country where I had my father around and had his love. I know what these children must enjoy with their fathers in their household even, if we live in a different country and have a different culture. Fathers, if they are of any worth at all, love their children and so I am asking for their safety so they can live to raise their children to adulthood. I also pray that they would come to know Jesus as their Savior and teach their children about Him so they too can believe. In Jesus’ Precious and Holy Name. Amen

Give your children compassion and call us all to pray without ceasing for the salvation of the unsaved fathers there and their families. Sherrill Says:

Father, during this busy time of gift buying and giving, help us to not be too busy to remember those far from home. Maybe it’s their first time to be away from family and friends; most probably it’s the first time they have been in a life-threatening area day after day. We pray for their peace of mind and the peace of mind of their families. Protect each and every one, Lord, wherever they are, protect our allies and the Israeli troops. Help us as a country to develop new technologies to better protect our soldiers in harm’s way. Help our leaders develop new strategies for peace. And then put angels all around them as a shield to deliver them from harm. We pray this by the Blood of Jesus and in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen

    Betsy P. Says:

Heavenly Father, I present this prayer to You in honor of and in memory of my earthly father who taught me to pray. You protected him and preserved him during hie flight training with the USAF during WWII. You protected him and brought him home from many work related car trips. You allowed him to be the provider for and protector of his family for several decades. Please do this for fathers who call Baghdad and Iraq home, and the ones who are there to serve in war times desiring to enforce the peace.

Father of lights, all good gifts and perfect gifts come from You Who gave the world Your good and perfect Son. Let every eye behold Him and every heart prepare Him room this Christmas season. In His blessed name, Jesus, I pray, amen.

Father, we bring to you all those in Baghdad and throughout Iraq — including northern Iraq whre violence against the people and our troops has continued. I pray that the citizens of Baghdad will be able to se that all the bloodshed of its citizens and American and Allied troops was not in vain. Father, help this still-fragile peace to hold together for the Iraqis. Thank you Lord that your promises are real and true. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

    Mary Ann Says:

Dear Father, You transcend time. You know the prayers that have been prayed for Baghdad–for its people, and particularly the fathers and mothers who are responsible for the education of little ones. And you see the delusions of those trapped in Islam who would teach their children to kill themselves for their false god. Please intervene in those families and show them the truth of Jesus Christ. Cause them to choose life for their children. Enable fathers to see how You model fatherhood, and give them the desire to do the same. Bless these parents. May they never see their children killed as a result of war; may they become peacemakers themselves. Please encourage your church to continue to reach out in the love of Christ so the residents of Baghdad and all of Iraq will see their need for Jesus and reject the lies of Islam. Please glorify your name in this nation, Father. We ask in the name of Jesus. AMEN.

    Dottie Says:

Dear Father watch over the fathers in Iraq and Afganistan. Lead them on a straight and narrow path that leads to you. May there be no blood shed by the fathers in these lands and may they live a long life, to protect their families. Bless them and their families this day I pray in Jesus name. Amen

  20. 525
    Jean Says:

Dear Father in Heaven, thank You so much for godly fathers who love and nurture their families and work so hard to provide for their needs. Please encourage the fathers in Iraq today who fear Your Name, and help them to find direction and wisdom to look after the needs of their families. Thank You for those fathers that serve in the forces. Please bless and keep their families while they are away, and return them safely to the arms of their loved ones. Heavenly Father, I am also thinking of two young fathers in my sphere of acquaintanceship, one who is being deeply challenged right now with the needs and necessities of his young family, the other who has just emerged from a prolonged season of testing and self-denial. May I pray a special blessing for these men today, and for others like them who are being stretched and challenged to keep their eyes focused on You and their hearts established in trusting You. Thank You, Father in Heaven. In Jesus’ Precious and Holy Name. Amen.

    Jim in NH Says:

Lord, we know that your awesome grace is available to everyone because you say so in Titus 2:11 – “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men…”. You’ve also created everyone with a free will to accept or reject that grace. So, my prayer, Dear Father, is that there would be a revival throughout Irag, like that in Nineveh when Jonah was sent by you, and that the Holy Spirit would sweep through the land, brushing away anything that might prevent the Iraqis from seeing the pure truth of the Gospel. Honor and glory to the Lamb.

    Beth Lohse Says:

    Father,

I cry out to you for the families in Iraq, for their protection for wisdom to be given parents, especially fathers in how to nurture their families in this bleeding place. Oh God, stir the hearts of Iraq men toward their Father in Heaven. Draw them in Your mercy to Yourself. Show them way to Salvation in Christ alone, may they find Your righteousness and their postition in Christ this day! Have mercy oh God on family leaders in Iraq.

    In Your Holy Name,

    Amen

    Mary Says:

Father I pray for restoration of the family, that Fathers would be able to protect and care for their family as you have placed in their heart. Heavenly Father,

May Your blessing rest upon all the fathers in Baghdad and Iraq this day. May they readily recognize that You are their Father in Heaven and the Jesus is Your ultimate way of preserving their life. Thank You for that greatest of all provisions, Jesus. I pray for the fathers to be good examples to their children and that they will at all times treat their wives with respect and a sense of cherishing. It is good for the children to see that their fathers love their mothers. And I pray that the wives will also respect and show lovingkindness to their husbands, the fathers of their children. Please bless the families in Iraq and the families of the US troops with outstanding relationships that withstand the stresses of war. Please provide resources to the fathers to help them to grow spiritually and to strengthen the bonds with their loved ones. I do pray all the lives of the fathers will be spared today and everyday for they are a necessary part of their families life. Thank You for Your blessings in answer to my prayer. In the name of Jesus, Amen
