17-Protection for Fathers

Scripture: “Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from men of violence who plan to trip my feet.” -Psalm 140:4

Prayer: Father, You are the Lord of the impossible. You are the God that knows when we sit down and when we stand up. You know the number of hairs on our head, and nothing escapes Your notice.

muslimfamily.jpgWe come to You in Jesus name and ask for divine protection over the fathers and the households in Baghdad. Lord, we ask right now, that You would intervene on behalf of a father in Baghdad today and that instead of tragedy, there would be deliverance from death.

Father, release help from Your throne to keep the fathers safe so they can protect and provide for their families. Keep these dear people from the hands of the wicked, and protect them from the schemes of violence.

Lord we also lift up the soldiers who are fathers, and ask for a special protection and blessing over them today. Guard them Lord with Your divine protection. Surround them with Your favor like a shield. Guard their going out and their coming in, their rising up and their lying down. You alone are able, and we agree together for this in Jesus name. Amen!

Father, we come before you again with our prayers for the fathers and mothers of Iraq and Afghanistan. Give them wisdom and insight so they will know the way of truth and be able to raise children who know and proclaim the name of Jesus. Give them wisdom and insight that only comes from knowing your word. We pray that today you will open the doors of heaven and pour out your Holy Spirit on the leaders of Iraq so they will know the truth of salvation and the doors of Iraq and Afghanistan will be open for the spread of the gospel. As you did in Russia, please do in these countries. In the name of Jesus, I pray

    Janice from Georgia Says:

    Heavenly Father,

You are the true Father of all the people on earth. You are the heavenly Father to those who recognize Your place in their lives and to those who neglect to give You status as their recognized Father. You are the creator of life. Thank You Lord for the lives You have sustained today and for all those You allowed to begin life this day. I pray for the fathers in Baghdad specifically today. Some are elderly fathers and some are new fathers having just today conceived a new one to come into the world in nine months. Lord, please put Your hand of blessing into the lives of all those fathers whatever stage of fatherhood they may be in. You know their needs. They each will thrive knowing they are loved by their wives and children. Please let that be a fixture in their lives that they know they are loved by You and their families. If any of the fathers have physical, emotional or mental problems I pray You will provide a source of wellness for them. Take away any form of sickness and if they are on beds of affliction please provide excellent care for them until they are much improved. I pray that all the fathers are employed in work that honors their level of skill and that none are having to compromise their integrity to be employed. Please bless all the fathers in these many mentioned ways and in all the other ways that only You have knowledge of that they need blessing. I pray through Jesus, Amen

    Jean Says:

Loving Heavenly Father, how very wise You are, and how gracious! Please accept humble thanks for prayers answered again and again as we see in reports of how the situation has improved in Iraq since many took up praying for that land!

Today I want to petition You for the coming days in Iraq, that the land will become secure and free from war and terror, so that the fathers of the land may be able to nurture and lead their families without the fears and anguish war can bring. I pray that the conditions will continue to improve until that nation is healed from its sojourn into trouble and violence. May You then raise up many godly fathers who will raise their families in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

I pray, too, that the fathers and families who have not been devastated by loss in this war will reach out and care for those who have been left fatherless, for the widows of the land, and for the elderly bereaved of their son or daughter who would have cared for their needs in time of frailty.

I pray for the safety and well-being of all the troops who are serving there. Please keep them from every manner of harm, whether physical, emotional or spiritual. Help them to do the task assigned to them well and without fear. May they ultimately return to their homes and families knowing You have helped them and they have done well according to the best of their abilities. In Jesus’ Precious Name. Amen.
