1-Protection for Leaders

Scripture: “Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of evil and cruel men.” -Psalm 71:4 (NIV)

Prayer: Lord, you are God and there is no other. Your Name is unfailing. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne: love and faithfulness go before You. There is none like You, a great Savior and One who delivers the helpless.

We thank You that Your ears are open to the cry of the righteous. We come before Your throne of grace with confidence through the authority of Your sacrifice.

Together, we ask that You would protect and preserve the leaders in Baghdad whose lives are under threat. Lord, release escapes from death, we ask for Your angels to intercept and intervene on behalf of the men and women who are in positions of influence. Protect these people who will guide Baghdad and the nation forward in constructive and life giving paths in the days ahead.

Father, we bind the one who comes to “kill, steal, and destroy” in Jesus name. We ask that You would deliver these leaders from loss and destruction; that You would preserve them and prepare them to be the ones to rebuild this city and nation. We also lift up the Prime Minister in this time of transition, and we ask that You would protect him and give him grace, wisdom, and vision to lead his nation forward. Let Your will be done, and let your kingdom come, we ask this in Jesus name. Amen!

    Jean Says:

Dear Father in Heaven, may the people of Iraq be blessed with strong governing leadership that will bring that nation into a new era of peace. Please do help the leaders today, and protect them from those who would like to bring harm and to perpetuate misery in that nation. I pray for every Iraqi citizen of every religious and ethnic background to feel at home and safe in their own homes and their communities. I pray for the troublemakers to be isolated and brought under authority. May they be kept from harming others. I pray for the Christians who have fled their homes to be able to return, and it would certainly be just if the groups who had been targeting and threatening them were made to pay some form of restitution, or to pay off their debt to society though the judicial system. Please give the leaders wisdom and strength to govern this nation and to bring about peace. For You are just and holy and true. May these leaders realize above all that evil will grow and multiply if left to itself, and that those who perptuate it inevitably grown bolder and more outrageous when efforts are made to appease them. May they be quickly and judiciously brought to answer for the trouble they have caused. In Jesus’ Righteous and Exalted Name. Amen.

Turn the hearts of the leaders in Baghdad, Sadr City and all Iraq to You, Lord. May they come to know You as Savior, Lord, Deliverer, Wisdom, Righteousness, Counsel and Might in 2011. Open their eyes to the TRUTH! Dear Father protect these who are in positions to make a difference in Iraq. Give them wisdom Father. We know that it is ONLY WITH GOD THE FATHER there will be a difference. Dottie Says:

Dear Father I pray for the leaders of Iraq today. Father keep them safe as they work to build peace in their land. Father give them pure hearts and clear minds and may they know You as Lord. I know that they have a different belief than ours but that does not mean that they cannot learn of Your great love. As they begin to know You perhaps their hearts will be softend and they will be better equipt to deal with the hard problems that arise. In any way You can Father help these leaders to work together for the good of their country and their people. I pray in Jesus name.
I pray again today for the war in Afganistan, that You will watch over our troops as the six were killed yeaterday. Be with their families and bring healing to their broken hearts. I pray in Jesus name. Amen

  24. 597
    Jean Says:

Dear Lord God, yes, I would pray for the safety of the leaders in Iraq, especially knowing that when the leadership is secure it is always better for the citizens of any nation. I also pray for these leaders to be sure that they are committed to righteousness and to preserving the safety and rights of Iraqi citizens, so that all citizens might be able to live free and productive lives in their own homeland. But today my hearts is also filled with concern for Your people in and around the Mosul area. It seems that Christians are still being threatened, targeted, and even assassinated in that reagion. Dear Father in Heaven, I pray for an end to the danger and threats aimed toward Christians in Iraq. Please give discernment and a desire for truth to the leaders. May they be found willing to take up the cause of these very productive but very oppressed people within the borders of their nation. May the groups that are still bent on violence and who target the Christians in this way be isolated and found out, and may they be rightfully and appropriately prosecuted for these extraordinarily unrighteous and murderous acts. In Jesus’ True and Holy Name. Amen.

  25. 596
