13-Calling Forth Baghdad’s Destiny

Scripture: “For nothing is impossible with God.” -Luke 1:37

Prayer: Lord, in You we live and move and breathe and have our being. You are a God of wonder and glory, who rules the nations by Your great power. There is nothing beyond Your reach, or out of Your sight. What seems impossible for us, is nothing to You.

baghdad-sunset1.jpgBaghdad needs an impossible solution, and so we come to You because You are God of the impossible. We cast off the vision of what Baghdad has become, and we embrace the vision of what You want Baghdad to be — a city of peace and harmony that will bless the people of Iraq and the Middle East.

We agree with Your desire Lord, and say in faith, “Baghdad come forth out of darkness and into the light of your destiny. Cast off your cloak of violence and fear, and step into the garments of harmony and freedom that will bless your people.”

Lord, release hope and a fresh anticipation into the hearts of the Iraqis: free them from despair and enable them to see the possibilities. We ask that You would pour out a great big dose of the impossible over Baghdad, and usher in a new season for that city and its people. In Jesus name, amen.

Father, I love You because You first loved us – and that means everyone in the world. We are interceding as Your Body for the people and nation of Baghdad, Mansur, and all Iraq. Cover them with Your feathers and cause them to trust under Your wings. Open their eyes to the Truth of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Protect them from eternal darkness and death. Bring the land into agreement with Your plans and purposes for it. Cause our believing soldiers there to be a Light in the darkness, a guidepost to You. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.

Father – We come to you at this time with a praise in our hearts. A praise for the wonderful things you are doing in the lives of men and women today. When we think of Bagdad, we think of those there that know you as their Redeemer. Those that have had their lives chabged because of their surrendering to You. It is our prayer tht they may continue to show the change in there lives to others. We knw there are thousands living in that area that still haven’t prayed for a personal change to be in their lives. They have gone through many situations in their lives in these past years, but Lord we have to be ready for the Great Day that is coming – Your Return in calling Yours to that Great Marriage in Heaven. Lord, help those that have not personally been told to hear the call to GET READY to COME HOME. Thank you God for the privileage of prayer. Amen and Amen.

Blessed and Holy One, as I was praying earlier today for Iraq I was concerned for the Christians who are still facing oppression and violence in their homeland. Many are still displaced. Please help the believers to know that they are have and important place in that nation to be salt and light in times of challenge and growth. Please keep them close to Yourself, and help them to overcome the fears that the enemy wants to bring against them. I pray again for victory for Iraq in heavenly places, Dear Lord. Please help Your people to remember Whose they are and to represent You as faithful and devoted followers of Him who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. May none of their suffering turn out to have been in vain, but may it all work out for the furtherance of Your Kingdom. Thank You, Father that You do all things well!! In Jesus’ Merciful and Mighty Name. Amen.

    Dear Heavenly Father,
I agree with the prayer written above, YOU are the one who gives us our breathe and life, and YOU fill the earth with Your wonders and glory. You are a Holy and loving God, and no one can ever take your place.

We your intercessors come in agreement and say; “help us to cast off the vision of what Baghdad has become”, and to embrace the VISION of what YOU WANT BAGHDAD to be — a city of peace and harmony that will bless the people of Iraq and the Middle East.
Its Your desire Lord, and in faith we say, “Baghdad COME FORTH OUT OF DARKNESS and into the LIGHT of your destiny. CAST OFF your cloak of violence and fear, and STEP INTO THE GARMENTS of HARMONY and FREEDOM that will bless your people.” Lord, RELEASE HOPE and a fresh anticipation into the hearts of the Iraqis: free them from all despair and ENABLE THEM to see the great possibilities. We thank you that “all things are possible” with you and through you. LORD God Almighty, pour out a great big dose of your glory, light and power over Baghdad. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen

Father, You alone are the Creator of the ends of the earth and all that is in it. Make Your Presence and your Power known, I pray. The Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.
As the day is winding down in Baghdad, Adhamiya, and all over Iraq, may people search their hearts, and seek forgiveness from You, as well as give forgiveness to others.
May tomorrow dawn with hope in the hearts of those who are fainting in the fray. May the hope spring from a faith and trust in our Savior, Jesus, in Whose name we pray, amen.

Father, let today be a day of miracles. Show Your face to those who try to cast you out of Baghdad, show them that You are the Master of the universe and yet You do not rule with hatred, You rule with love. You do not want even one to vanish because he/she has not known Your son and his/her sins have not been forgiven. I cry out to You today, Lord, give us strength and hear our prayers so that the people of Baghdad and Iraq as a whole see the possibilities peace brings for them and that are nothing but destroyed by hatred and violence. Protect our troops, Father, as they try to do what must seem to be impossible to them sometimes. Let them lean onto You every minute of the day and give them Your confidence that every little bit they do in Your will is helping to bring peace. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Lord, Father God, Your Son, Himself, told us that the things that are impossible with men are possible with God. And the angel Gabriel, sent from Heaven by You, told Mary that nothing is impossible with God. We have Your Word, so we put You in remembrance of it, and ask You to fulfill with Your hand what You have promised with Your mouth. May this be for the good of the Iraqis and the coalition soldiers, and for Your glory. In Jesus name we ask these things, amen.

Our Father in Heaven, please work Your power so that the people in the City of Baghdad and in all of Iraq see what may seem impossible to them today. May they experience the hope for peace as only You can give it. Please destroy the evil thoughts, the hatred, the narrow mindedness that doesn’t allow them to see past the destruction and fear of today. Father, I ask You today to bring down rays of hope and a glimpse of a better life to all of the people in Iraq so that they may see past what is now into Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, ” plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Father, I come to you in the name of your SON Jesus and by his authority, we use His name. Jesus, you are GOD. Your will be done this day in Baghdad. Speak to those who know you already…encouraging words that will lift them out of the pit they are in and lead others to come to know you. YOU are our slavation. There is no other name under heaven and in earth that man can call on and be saved.

We sing a new song to you Jesus. You will deliver the suffering from their persecuters, for you love justice and hate evil. We trust YOU Jesus and we lift you up over this area of the world.

Father, You are the God Who does exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in Your people. You have already done far more through the power of the prayers of Your people than we could have imagined at the beginning of this war. We are in agreement for more of Your interventions for Baghdad, Karrada and all Iraq as we continue to intercede for the citizens and the soldiers/police and their families.
Take up Your power and reign over the troublemakers. Cause them to bow the knee to the Lord Jesus Christ in Whose name we pray, amen.

Dear Lord God, our Heavenly Father, I pray for Your light to come into hopeless situations in Iraq. We are encouraged to pray this for Baghdad. I am also thinking of Basrah, where I had read there seems to be very little to encourage the people in a city filled with corruption and with very little witness of You. May Your will be done in Iraq. Please help Your people, who have been quite beseiged in recent years, to take courage and to serve You in the place they reside. May light and truth come to parts of Iraq that are characterized by darkness and despair. May You see Your desires and purposes fulfilled in that nation. Thank You for Your wonderful graces and mercies. Blessed be Your Holy Name! In Jesus’ True and Faithful Name. Amen.
