13-Calling Forth Baghdad’s Destiny

Scripture: “For nothing is impossible with God.” -Luke 1:37

Prayer: Lord, in You we live and move and breathe and have our being. You are a God of wonder and glory, who rules the nations by Your great power. There is nothing beyond Your reach, or out of Your sight. What seems impossible for us, is nothing to You.

baghdad-sunset1.jpgBaghdad needs an impossible solution, and so we come to You because You are God of the impossible. We cast off the vision of what Baghdad has become, and we embrace the vision of what You want Baghdad to be — a city of peace and harmony that will bless the people of Iraq and the Middle East.

We agree with Your desire Lord, and say in faith, “Baghdad come forth out of darkness and into the light of your destiny. Cast off your cloak of violence and fear, and step into the garments of harmony and freedom that will bless your people.”

Lord, release hope and a fresh anticipation into the hearts of the Iraqis: free them from despair and enable them to see the possibilities. We ask that You would pour out a great big dose of the impossible over Baghdad, and usher in a new season for that city and its people. In Jesus name, amen.

Father you are the One Supreme One worthy of worship. You are God, who made the world and everything in it. You give to all life, breath, and all things.

It is you O Lord our God we proclaim to the people of Baghdad and all of Iraq acc. Acts 17: “See your Saviour come, He who made you and all nations of men from one blood to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined your preappointed times and the boundaries of your dwellings, so that you people of Baghdad and Iraq, should seek Him the Lord, in the hope that you might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being. He says if you seek Him you will find HIM.”

We release your word which you watch over to perform which is true, we know it will accomplish that which you have sent it to do. In Jesus Name we thank you. Amen

We come to you today Oh Lord and ask you to forgive us for our sins, for our greed, our selfishness. Help us to seek you each day and listen to you as you guide us in the way which we should go. We pray for protection for our soldiers and innocents in Iraq and Afghanistan and we ask you to protect Israel and the United States. We don’t deserve your grace and mercy, but we ask for it boldly because we want to come back to you as a Christian nation, as our founding fathers wanted us to be. Guide our leaders in YOUR way Lord and guide the leaders in Israel. Direct them and we pray YOUR will be done. Amen and Amen

    M. Thompson Says:

    Dear Lord:
We thank you and praise you for another Day on earth to seek your Face and your will in our lives.
We know Your Coming is nigh and see all the frightening news daily and it never seems to get better.
It only promises more killing and more violence.
But Lord, with You is plenteous redemption and plenteous mercy and provision.
We live and move and have our being in You Christ Jesus.
So, we use our time to pray for those in peril and those who need prayer daily….our US Soldiers.
Please give them the courage of King David and the military prowess of Sisera, and the wisdom and love for peace of Solomon.
Cover them at all times but especially cover them on the Day of Battle.
Let them sleep soundly and give them instructions in their ear that they can remember the next day. I seal it now in Jesus Name to their memories.
In Jesus Name I pray, Amen

    Cindy Says:

    Dear gracious heavenly Father,

We ask that you would usher in a dawn of peace for the entire country of Iraq as our troops are withdrawn. Put an end to thoughts of vengeance between the various factions. Allow them to envision a “bigger picture” – that of allegiance to their country instead of their family, tribe, or religion. Use this time of relative calm to turn many hearts to you. You are the only one who can draw them and you have told us you want all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.

Thank you for hearing my prayer.

Father protect our troops and the Iraqi police so that they can capture those who are working against peace in their country. Again we do not understand why anyone would want to continually kill innocent people. It is beyond our comnprehension. Only you know the plans you have for Iraq and Afganistan. Father protect all those who are working to keep the peace. Watch over each and everyone of them I pray in Jesus name. Amen

Dear Father many would like to stop us from using the BPP for our prayers to you but even if that happened nothing would stop us from praying to you every day, night or whenever. We come to you asking for the help that Baghdad needs to stop the enemy from preforming acts of terror on the innocent, Father give them an extra measure of protection from these who are working to disrupt the peace that has been won. Confuse the enemy’s thought processes so that they will not think straight and will have your Holy Spirit enter into their hearts and minds and turn them around completely.YOU ARE THE GOD OF THE IMPOSSIBLE. I pray in Jesus name. Amen

  21. 492
    Carol Says:

God, i declare that you are the God of solutions and i come into agreement with this prayer for the city of Baghdad: that it is a city of peace and prosperity, for “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”. Therefore, I call the people of Baghdad blessed: Deuteronomy 28 “You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. Deu 28:4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock–the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.” Deu 28:5 Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.” Yes, all things are possible to the blessed people of Baghdad who believe. I release the strength, courage, and boldness for them to “believe” in the name of Jesus.

  22. 491
    Betsy P. Says:

Lord of the Church, we cry out to You, our Head and the Head of our siblings in Christ in Baghdad, and all Iraq and Afghanistan, We ask that You comfort them in the way that they need. We ask for a hedge of angelic protection to be around each one. We ask that You enable them to forgive their persecutors. We ask You to raise up neighbors who will stand with them against the violent men, women and children. We ask that You wold cause the leaders in the land to stand against the violence being done to Christian citizens.

Arise, O Lord, and let Your enemies be scattered and let those that hate You flee from before You, but let the righteous rejoice. In Jesus’ name, amen.

  23. 490
    Lois Says:

Father, I come today in behalf of Iraq and its destiny. Lord I ask that their be peace in this country right now. Pour down your love, peace, and comfort to all the families that have lost family and friends due to the bombings lately. Lord God, our Prince of Peace, Our healer, the great I AM, cover all your children there and give them courage to continue in their walk with you. Send forth their angels to protect their coming and going. Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus, guide His loved one there and continue in giveing them the true word of the Lord Jesus Chrust. Be with our soldiers and protect them from all harm. Give them courage to help the Iraqis and to show the love of Jesus. In the precious name of Jesus I pray, and give all the glory to you. Amen

  24. 489
    Sherrill Says:

Father, we pray for those who are in harm’s way today. We ask that You surround them with a shield of protection and safety. Give them leaders who will deliver them safely home again. Wake up this nation to the right priorities, Lord. There are many who are sleeping and not seeing or receiving the truth. Awake them so this nation can be whole as one again. Father, let those who are risking their lives for us know our love and respect for them. Help their families in this time of pain and grief. You are the Living God, only You have the answers we need. We seek Your face and Your direction, Lord, and it is in Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen

  25. 488
    Yvonne Says:

We thank you mighty God for your protection of our peace time troops in Iraq. Thank you for raising up men to lead Iraq to freedom. Please give them the needed wisdom and strength that only comes from you. We ask now Lord for your protection over the Christians left in Iraq. Please send your Angels to protect them and their churches. We stand in the gap at the fence of protection you have placed around them and pray your mercies fall on them.
