13-Calling Forth Baghdad’s Destiny

Scripture: “For nothing is impossible with God.” -Luke 1:37

Prayer: Lord, in You we live and move and breathe and have our being. You are a God of wonder and glory, who rules the nations by Your great power. There is nothing beyond Your reach, or out of Your sight. What seems impossible for us, is nothing to You.

baghdad-sunset1.jpgBaghdad needs an impossible solution, and so we come to You because You are God of the impossible. We cast off the vision of what Baghdad has become, and we embrace the vision of what You want Baghdad to be — a city of peace and harmony that will bless the people of Iraq and the Middle East.

We agree with Your desire Lord, and say in faith, “Baghdad come forth out of darkness and into the light of your destiny. Cast off your cloak of violence and fear, and step into the garments of harmony and freedom that will bless your people.”

Lord, release hope and a fresh anticipation into the hearts of the Iraqis: free them from despair and enable them to see the possibilities. We ask that You would pour out a great big dose of the impossible over Baghdad, and usher in a new season for that city and its people. In Jesus name, amen.

    Dear Lord:
Thank you SO MUCH!!!!for this powerful and wonderful website so that the Body Of Christ can gather and petition with one accord for Your favor and protection over our Soldiers.

Lord, all creation groans for it’s redemption even as we pray. When Your Son Jesus, our Redeemer, stands upon the earth and we see him face to face as Job said in antiguity, EVERYTHING will be restored.

The animal kingdom will no longer be carnivorous but even the proud lion will eat grass. I get to frolic with panthers and lions. I can’t wait!
The trees in the fields will clap their hands and we’ll go out in joy! (song)
With so much sowing of tears in Iraq there must be a large harvest coming for you say: whatsoever we “sow in tears we will come back from the fields rejoicing, carrying in the sheaves.”
So, I agree with the daily prayer today to call forth Iraq into her destiny. Iraq, you Lazarus, COME FORTH!!! Your destiny will be glorious and peaceful for it has been fought for so hard and at such a precious price.
May all our Soldiers who contribute now to this be rewarded NOW in their life time and in eternity’s heavenly home. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen

    Heavenly Father,

Baghdad is in Your hands. We pray You will shower it with Your blessings today. Bring it to the divine destiny You have in mind for it and the country of Iraq. May it be a shining example of what You can do in the world. Bless Baghdad with peace. Let the sound of gunfire and other weapons pass out of hearing. May the only loud sounds be from bands playing, bells ringing, and fire works going off to celebrate Your peace in the nation. May the people sing songs of joy to You in appreciation of what You have done. Thank You for caring for all the troops who are serving their duty hours there. Bless them with good news from home. May they each receive words from the people of our nation showing how thankful we are for what they are doing. Please care for all those who have returned home with wounded bodies and spirits. Please let them heal quickly and thoroughly. I pray through Jesus, Amen

    Lois Lively Says:

    Dear Father,
I thank you for your love, joy, peace, and grace given to us because of yur gracious love, and your Son Jesus being our loving Redeemer. YOU ARE KING OF KINDS AND LORD OF LORDS FOR ALL ETERNITY.

“O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made.
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power through-out the universe displayed.”

And Father, after this comes “Then SINGS MY SOUL, my Savior God to thee, HOW GREAT THOU ART, how great thou art.” LORD, YOU ARE AWESOME AND GREAT, and everything you made with your hands AND BY YOUR WORD is beautiful. Now may I say this for the Iraqi & Afghani soldiers in Baghdad in faith and love: “BAGHDAD, AND AFGHANISTAN COME FORTH OUT OF THE DARKNESS AND INTO THE LIGHT OF YOUR DESTINY. CAST OFF your cloak of violence and fear, and STEP INTO HARMONY AND FREEDOM THAT WILL BESS YOUR PEOPLE.” Father, I ask would you do the impossible here where we as humans couln’t ever do. RELEASE YOUR LOVE AND LIGHT upon this land, and make it into a beautiful masterpiece like it once was before all these wars amongst each other in hatred. Touch their hearts and mind and teach them of your live and love. for our soldirs heavenly Father, bless them, cover them with the blood, eancourage them with your word and love. Keep on giving them HOPE in you their rock and banner. In the Holy name of Jesus I pray and give you praise, honor and glory. YOU ARE THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD HALLELLUAH. Amen

Abba, we come in the prayer of agreement for Bagdad. We ask that You cause light to come forth out of the darkness of the enemy of these peoples. Let knowledge of Messiah spring up in places no one thought it could and change this country, bringing glory and honor to Your name.

  15. 323
    Sherrill Boyd Says:

Father of Lights, Holy One of Israel, I come to you with a heavy heart. We have lost nine precious soldiers in Afghanistan because our minds have been focused on Iraq and I have forgotten to pray for the safety of those in other hot spots in the Middle East. It only takes a few more minutes to include them in the same prayers we pray for Baghdad and Iraq. I will do that from now own. Please move upon the hearts of wicked men to cause them to change their ways and desire harmony and peace. If they won’t, then keep our precious men and women in uniform and those working with them hidden in Your secret place, overshadowed by Your mighty wings of protection. Let them feel your love at this time of such sorrow because of the loss of their friends and comrades. Help them to not give in to terror and fear but to rise up with even more resolve to see this thing through to the end. Victory is theirs if they endure. Send your warring angels to assist in this great bat-tle with evil. The battle is the Lord’s. Come Lord Sabbaot and raise Your strong right arm on behalf of our troops. Release your arsenal against the enemy and destroy his will and intension. All praise be to You and Your glorious finally of victory. In Your wonderful name, Amen.

  16. 322

    Jean Says:

Merciful Heavenly Father, I eagerly and hopefully wait to hear of great spiritual victories taking place in Baghdad in answer to the many prayers that have been going up for that city. May that city and that nation be transformed and healed of past wounds and present difficulties and may the citizens look up, to You, with new hope and confidence in Who You are and all You are willing to do for those who trust in You. May this all work out to Your honor and glory and the building up of Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ Precious and Holy Name. Amen.

    Lynn Says:

Heavenly Father God, as I tried to get onto the BPP website yesterday to get my assignment, I found the site unavailable. Father, You are never unavailable to us, and it made me realize 2 things. One is that no matter what’s going on around us, what we CAN rely on is You alone. The other is the fact that we have this website and the religious freedom to seek to pray wherever and whenever we want. These things are HUGE. And things that I’ve known, but sometimes it takes a little jolt to bring my mind and heart back to some realizations of things not to be taken for granted. And things to THANK You for. Help me to know what my responsibilities are to help maintain this site because it does help me to pray daily for our soldiers and the middle east and our leaders. We hear of things going wonderfully in some areas because of all You are providing for our troops to do to help the Iraqi army and peoples to accomplish in their country. But we can’t become complacent or lost in the idea that our work is done, because things in Afghanistan are becoming worse as well as things escalating in Iran. We have to remain on the wall and in the gap for You. We have to keep our soldiers covered with prayer while they are still in harms way. So, Lord, light the fire in us and keep our hearts and minds set on this, looking to You as the goal, praying our brave military men and women through this, and praying for our leaders here and the outcome of the election that no matter what, You are in control and recieve all the glory for all You accomplish. I pray these things in Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen and Amen.

    Lily Says:

    Dear Lord
I praise and thank You for Your goodness and Your mercy in keeping the hands of the enemies from our beloved troops, and civillians.
I give You Lord, the highest thanksgiving and praise that I have within me! You truly are the Light of the World! Thank You!
I call forth today and speak those things that are not, as though they were. Lord, reveal Your plans for Baghdad, and the rest of the regions around the Middle East! Lord, let Your name,(Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ) Be glorified in Baghdad today.
    I thank You Lord,
    Amen and Amen

    Lord Jesus,

Pierce the darkness of evil with Your Holiness.

Let Your Word reverberate throughout Iraq.

Draw those in darkness into Your Light of Salvation.

Comfort and protect our warriors with Your Word.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you,not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

    Janice from Georgia Says:

    Heavenly Father,

You are the Author of all goodness and righteousness on earth. You hold the keys to every city and country in Your hand. I pray You will in Your goodness bless Baghdad and Iraq with an opening of the door that has been shut for too long, the door to permanent peace in the country. May Your good will be done, Your kingdom come on that spot on the globe known as Baghdad and Iraq. Let the people speak the word, “Peace”, and nod knowingly that it has come about because of Your great work there. No one else can receive the glory for that outcome. It awaits for You alone. You are so very wonderful in all You accomplish daily in all the lands on earth. There is not a recording device large enough to hold record of what You accomplish in one second simultaneously in all countries around the earth. There are never enough thank Yous coming Your way. For this moment I say thank You for what You are doing in Baghdad this moment because without a doubt it is good. Thank You, thank You. I love You Lord and hope many others around the world and especially in Iraq will find their way to loving You and Jesus. I pray through Jesus, Amen

  24. 314
    Jean Says:

Dear Loving Heavenly Father, as the sun rises over Baghdad today I pray that You will work in the hearts and minds of its citizens, calling them to consider Your truth and to pursue Your ways. I pray that as many awaken this morning they will take up the thought and purpose of making a difference for good today by denying evil and reaching out to help the needy ones around them. I pray that hearts and minds that have been bent on anger, fear and violence will be turned to pursuing what is right. May Baghdad be transformed because of those who will purpose to do what is right, and may this be a powerful influence on all of Iraq and throughout the middle east. In Jesus’ Precious and Holy Name. Amen.

  25. 313
    Faye Says:

Father in Heaven, Holy is Your Name. I ask for the people of Iraq to have peace soon. They have suffered for so long. Not my will but Yours, Lord. Let the sun come up on a peaceful Baghdad so the families can go to the market in safety and not be afraid. Give them the courage to stay strong in the face of adversity. I pray that You will watch over our troops and keep them safe.
In Jesus’ Precious and Holy Name I pray. Amen
